Unsurprisingly Viva Glam Rihanna is red and most likely matte!
Now I like a red lipstick as much as the next person but I truly don't understand why MAC seems to be pushing red and Rihanna lately? Unlike the likes of Gwen Stefani et al I don't deem Rihanna to have a signature red pout. As a matter of a fact I see Rihanna as a champion of the darker berry and on occasion black toned lipsticks.
Please don't get me wrong the cause that Viva Glam supports is very worthy indeed but it does seem a little lack lustre this year. On the plus side the packaging is lovely and I'm sure it will fly out of stores regardless.
MAC Viva Glam Rihanna will launch this coming January.
Thank you to Sophie for drawing my attention to the image :)
I totally agree, that red doesn't seem her signature colour to me either. Little bit disappointing I suppose. Xx
ReplyDeleteI was going to buy a red mac lipstick for my christmas nights out & now I really want to wait & buy this one ha, the packaging is so cute :) x
ReplyDeleteAh yes I agree!

I couldn't agree more! With you mentioning Gwen Stefani, I wish they would get her on board to do something for Viva Glam! :D
ReplyDeleteI love red lipstick but I hate matte, so this won't be being bought by myself.

I have just posted about this, too! I have more photos just in case you want to check them out! I really want to get this shade, but first I have to see some swatches and see it in person.
ReplyDeleteOh! And i love your blog! =D
I'm not usually one for anxiously waiting for MAC's latest offering to snap up (I can't afford a MAC addiction!) and I'm really not a fan of Rhianna as a person but something about this one does really appeal to me. I think it may be the packaging which looks really nice :)

I would have preferred something not red aswell... Especially since Ririwoo was not much different to Ruby Woo. A little disappointed really! I would have loved to see them come up with something great again, like Heaux and Ririboy :(

More Rihanna? MAC are really pushing her, I wonder how it compares to RiRi Woo?

I agree that I associate Rihanna with a dark berry lip or even black... I didn't understand 'RiRi Woo' because I don't think it relates to her very well at all. As you said it'll still fly off the shelves regardless.

i feel like they could have at least named someone else for viva glam for a year or so and then brought rihanna back as i feel they'd sell a ton
ReplyDeleteIt's probably about selling more, but really, I wish a little bit of fantasy with the colors...
