As you may know Boots have recently launched three exclusive and very limited edition beauty boxes one such being a collaboration with Essie. The Essie Festive Fingertips Beauty Box costs £24.99 but is worth a whopping £42. Inside a keep safe box (which I am using to store my other Essie nail polishes...original I know) you will find four full sized Essie shades (15ml) : Fishnet Stockings, Sole Mate, Eternal Optimist, Beyond Cozy. But that is not all you also receive a full set of Essie Love me Love me Nail Stickers and a
step-by-step guide to achieve the perfect Essie manicure.
As I tend to review products I can't help myself and feel the need to provide some polish application notes (sorry not sorry!). Essie Fishnet Stockings is a muted slightly deeper than average red that requires two coats to become fully opaque and dries to a high gloss finish. Essie Sole Mate is a deep plum based red that almost tinkers on burgundy and it applies exactly the same as Fishnet Stockings with the same glossy finish. Essie Eternal Optimist is a medium dusky rose shade that has a crème finish, requires two coats and again has a beautiful high sheen finish. Last but not least we have Essie Beyond Cozy which is the only glitter hue out of the quad but what a beauty it is - a light cool toned gold, that is constructed of fine glitter particles for a grown up glitter effect. This is a show stopper and really catches the light, requires two coats but it is a bit of a nightmare to remove but then again what glitter polish isn't?
There is also the Essie Love me Love me Nail Stickers which are both romantic and classic thanks to the monochrome colour scheme but I will be honest and say that I can not for the life of me apply these or any nail stickers. I'm sure there is a knack to the application process but all my attempts result in air bubbles and creases.
In my opinion the Essie Festive Fingertips Beauty Box is brilliant not only as a gift for someone you love (even if that someone is you) but a great way to pick up four full sized polishes that have been well matched to the current Winter 2013 nail trends.
Either way should you fancy getting your mitts on the Essie Festive Fingertips Beauty Box* you will have to be quick as numbers are limited (600 boxes in total), you can find it via Boots for £24.99 - link
