Bourjois know what beauty lovers want and that is healthy, glowing skin without the need for glitter or really noticeable shimmer particles. For radiant skin with minimal effort you may want to try out a product or two from the new Bourjois Happy Light range, to kick things off let me share my thoughts on the Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer.

In my opinion Bourjois never fail when it comes to packaging they suitably manage to provide a product that not only looks good but is easy to use and when it comes to liquid face products they always come with a pump. The bonus of having a pump is that you can not only control just how much product is dispensed but it also minimises waste and mess for that matter. I guess the only downside is that the Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer does come in a glass jar but in the brands defence I have yet to run into any problems in terms of dropping it and it shattering - it just means you can't take it as part of your carry on luggage when flying. No biggie.

Within the Bourjois Happy Light range there is two primers: Luminous which is intended for normal to dry skin and Matte which is for normal to combination skin. I have been trying out the Luminous version and although not intended for my skin type (oily) I can not say that it has added to my skin problems so don't let skin type bog you down go for the primer you wish. Another point worth making is that both primers are suitable for all skin colours yes they both have a slightly peachy pink appearance but once applied to the skin the tint disappears and does not alter the skin tone at all.

The texture of Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer is a light almost cream gel that glides on to the skin with ease (I use my finger tips) and feels both cooling and moisturising at the same time. Although hydrating this did not encourage my oily skin to produce more sebum nor does it feel heavy or thick on the skin rather the opposite. The idea is that this primer is a hybrid product that sits somewhere between a primer and a moisturising serum that can be used under foundation or on it's own. Once applied to the skin the complexion feels and looks smoother with a natural matte finish and a slightly perked up appearance. I liken it to a morning cup of coffee - it adds a little life to dull skin without the need for shimmer or glitter and is very, very subtle so much so that the effect does not photograph. As a base for foundation the smooth canvas it creates is perfect for most foundations (especially the Happy Light version) to glide on top off for a flawless finish that will wear a little longer. In my opinion this is a great every day primer to give the skin a little extra radiance but you may wish to go for something more obvious for evening wear.
