Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes, my oh my how I love thee but it sure boggles the mind to why Tarte has yet to launch within the UK or Europe for that matter? I mean imagine if they did, I know for sure that they would fly off the shelves straight into every beauty junkies make-up bags. Tarte you are missing a huge target audience here...okay I kid but I beg please come overseas we will treat you so nicely. I promise!
Each shade in the Tarte Amazon Clay Blush collection comes presented within a fairly large round plastic compact, the colour of the compact reflects the shade inside which is a lovely touch and helps you see at a glance what shade it is that you are reaching for. The blush pan itself is gently embossed with a tribal/leaf pattern which is also a rather nice touch. Inside the compact along with the blush is a large mirror - great for on the go touch ups and if you flip the blush over on to its rear you will see a ready made pin hole
for ease of de-potting the product should you wish to do so. Pretty, sturdy and practical is the best way to sum up this design.
My newest Tarte Amazonian Clay adventure is the shade Glisten (each time I utter it I can hear Beyonce singing Listen...welcome to my inner thought process) which is a mid toned coral pink with a slight golden nuance. Fans of Nars Orgasm blush and those who liked the shade but not so much the formula will enjoy Glisten as the hues are pretty similar with Glisten being a little lighter, more pink toned and a whole lot better formulated. Yes Glisten has tiny golden flecks of glitter present but they don't really translate onto the skin, the shimmer is subtle and soft focus and as Glisten has a yellow undertone this is a shade that will suit nearly every complexion.
If you have never encountered a Tarte Amazon Clay Blush then you are in for a pleasant surprise when the first time you ever swatch one or touch one arises. The pigmentation is incredible, I have honestly never experienced a blush quite as intense as this formula is. One little swipe is literally all it takes for incredible colour pay off so it is safe to say that a Tarte Amazon Clay Blush will last you forever and a day. However don't worry if you do have a heavy hand as this formula does easily blend out without too much work leaving behind harsh lines. This blush line is rather dreamy not only do they apply beautifully with a soft but altogether firm texture there is also next to no fall out. It feels light and silky on the skin and is extremely comfortable to wear and as earlier mentioned this formula is incredibly pigmented and will show even on the deepest skin tones without appearing ashen nor will it cake, always a good thing. Despite Glisten being a somewhat shimmer based shade it does not emphasise enlarged pores nor will it cling to any dry areas of the skin. The Tarte Amazon Clay Blushes are marketed as 12 hour wear products which I find to be a slight exaggeration, I found them to wear for around 8-9 hours before signs of wear and fading appeared. So yes they wear well but not quite the full 12 hours.
You can find Tarte blushes fairly easily on eBay and Amazon but as I haven't used any of the sellers I'm not going to link to any one individual.
Ooh this looks lovely! I really need to try a Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush!

I think tarte best blushes are the matte ones so buttery and pigmented. I still kick myself from not stocking up when I was still living in Canada. I will keep harassing them on their facebook page till they open international shipping.

Every time I hear about the tarte blushes I fall more and more in love with them. Never realised that there was a pin hole for easy repotting.
