MAC Brave Lipstick

I mentioned not so long ago that I had a good few empty MAC products to take back and exchange for a free lipstick or two (Back2MAC programme). Free lipstick is always a bonus and on this occasion it spurred me on to be a little braver (pun fully intended) with my choices. In the end I went home with MAC Rebel (review here) and MAC Brave lipsticks.

MAC Brave is listed as a "pink-beige with white pearl" on their web store which may put some off purchasing but the white pearl aspect doesn't give a frosty 80's vibe rather it adds a little dimension to the shade and prevents the satin formulation from looking flat. I would describe Brave to be a medium pink that has been tinged with brown making it a great everyday muted shade for medium complexions. It does lean fairly cool in tone and has a semi-matte finish.

As with most MAC satin formulated lipsticks I have found this to be a little drying and do recommend that those with dry or flaky lips prep with a lip scrub and a balm before application. It may also be worth your while to carrying a lip balm or gloss with you when wearing such shade to prevent the lips from drying out.
However satin formulas do tend to wear a little longer and on average I get around three hours of wear from this shade - well as long as I don't eat or drink.
