If like myself you are not a fan of nail polish purely because it doesn't matter which top coat you apply the wear time is very limited and the chipped nail look really isn't your thing. Then you may want to invest in the Sensationail starter kit for easy peasy at home gel manicures that rival salon quality.
When I say the process is easy with Sensationail I really am not kidding around - 8 quick steps is all it takes for a manicure that will last up to 2 weeks longer should it be a pedicure. Basically the process involves applying a gel base coat and curing it using the provided lamp, next you apply a coat of chosen colour gel nail polish and again cure - repeat once more and finish up with a top coat again curing. All in it takes just over five minutes and you are good to go.
I know what you are think what makes this any different from painting your nails with a typical polish and top coat combo? Well the gel polish is somewhat more hard wearing and durable without damaging the natural nail making it perfect for those who have difficult when it comes to growing or maintaining long nails. Also how many nail polishes do you own that can wear for up to two weeks remaining chip free and as glossy as it was on the first day you applied it?
A starter kit will set you back £69.99 which is by no means cheap but once you have it you have all you need for 10 manicures which work out at £10 each - less than half price should you visit a salon. My advice would be to chip in with a sister or friend or two that way you always have someone to paint your non-dominate hand ha! One thing I will warn you is that once you start wearing gel polish you will never look back.
You can find the Starter Kits here for £69.99* I have the Deluxe Kit in Pink Chiffon (contains an almond pink gel polish) and choose to paint my nails in the shade in Coral Sunset £10 both of which can be found via Sensationail - link. You can also find the brand in Boots, Tesco and Asda.

I don't like the idea of gel nails I'm personally too scared of them ruining my nails like acrylics, however I think the application is beautiful, and that colour is just stunning!!

Oh god acrylics are the devil! I HATE those, gel is nothing like it :) it removes with acetone nail polish and your natural nail is left unscathed.
Deletei love gel nails!

I had this kit and had to send it back, and they have very poor customer service! very dissapointing as i had such high hopes for this product :(
ReplyDeleteI use Gelish which is just a similar brand, It really is amazing, but I have no patience for the soak off part! I usually end up picking them off *slaps own hand* but there is no denying that Gelish polishes are worth the extra spend!

Sounds like a great kit, Though I haven't many great things about the gel nails.
ReplyDeleteI've had this for a few months now, and have to give my nails a break every few weeks as the removal process just makes them so weak, its such a pain it puts me off using it, but I do love how shiny and long they last xx
ReplyDeleteI tried these, and my polish just peeled off in sheets after a few days! :(

I'm weary if trying it too, my cousin is a chemist and really freaked me out explaining the different chemicals, bondings, etc. and I'm so worried about weak nails, bacteria, etc.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great and I really want to get one like this because I love wearing nail polish but hate when I chip them and have to take it off.
