I realise that I almost never write about eyeshadow primers and that is purely because I only have one firm favourite. Yes NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base comes a close second but for me it always has and always will be the original Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

I have been loyal to such primer since the days of it being encased within a tube that wasted more product than it supplied and for one reason only it works.I have really oily eye lids which are also hooded (some gals have all the luck eh), basically such combination can make the wear of eye products a nightmare and most formula's if not primed crease within two hours which is never a great look. For day wear I am typically a neutral kinda gal so should I forget or skimp primer it isn't all that noticeable but for nights out when rocking an all out vampy smoky eye the last thing you want is creasing or fading for that matter.

The new style of packaging that has been rolled out through out the entire Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion line is wonderful - a large squeeze style tube with a needle point applicator that allows for both precision and controlled dispensing. Not to mention being a squeeze tube results in you overall loosing less product overall but I do still recommend snipping open the tube and scraping out the insides once you think all the contents have gone - you will be surprised at just how much clings to the side.

Basically the light, silken but creamy Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is used before eyeshadow, you take a tiny amount and lightly blend over the entire lid and brow bone should you wish. By doing so you not only ensure that any product placed on top of this liquid is prolonged in terms of wear but also that the colour is intensified too! Although not technically tinted the Original Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion does neutralise the skin to a certain degree, reducing signs of redness and veins. Typically speaking as not all eyeshadows are equal without a primer my eyeshadow will begin to show signs of creasing as early as two hours into the day but with this primer it will stay locked in place until I decide to remove it. I have also heard that the tinted versions can be worn on their own as a cream eyeshadow which may be worth investigating in if you have ever struggled finding a great long wearing formula of that kind. They are next on my hit list so do check back as I will purchase them sooner or later.

For £15 it truly is unbeatable and the best of its kind out there but if you feel differently do let me know!
