Don't you love when a highstreet brand provides a product that not only rivals higher end products but is pretty innovative? You do? Well if you have yet to try out the Maybelline The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer line I urge you to remedy that soon!
Much like the foundation from the Maybelline Eraser line the The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer comes in a typical plastic tube with a difference At the top instead of a dispenser we have a foam applicator that allows you to apply the concealer without the need of a brush. The idea is that the foam applicator blends the product seamlessly much like a foam beauty blender does. I have to agree that the little sponge does blend the concealer into the skin without compromising the coverage. For those like myself who can become a little consumed with germs and perhaps have put off purchasing The Eraser due to that fact you can rest easy as the foam applicator is constructed from an anti-bacterial substance that does not require you to rinse/clean it. I hope Maybelline use such material and market some beauty blenders...a girl can dream eh!
At the moment I can only find this line of concealer online via Superdrug which stocks three shades: Light, Medium and Nude, however in the States and Canada (maybe other places too) you can also purchase a shade specially formulated to brighten (#160 Brightener) and one to neutralise dark circles and redness (#150 Neutralizer). As someone who likes to apply a light and yellow toned concealer to my under eye area to lighten, brighten and of course cover dark circles I opted for the Maybelline The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer in shade #150 Neutralizer. This is a bright, light pale yellow hue that won't be everyone's bag but combined with Ben Nye's Banana powder it gives a brilliant under eye highlight effect that also conceals in one quick step. Truthfully if you struggle with really dark circles this is not for you in that sense but could be used as a liquid highlight else where on the face.
In terms of coverage Maybelline The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer is pretty decent, it glides on the under eye area with a hydrating and creamy texture that doesn't gather into any creases or fine lines.
In my opinion I would deem the coverage level of The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer to be moderate, it will cover most under eye circles and general signs of fatigue but if you suffer from extremely dark circles I don't think this is for you. However I do have to commend Maybelline as this formula doesn't tend to crease on me - even in balmy weather with my oily skin! You can of course use The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer to conceal general blemishes (dependant on the shade you purchase) which I do find it does rather well. As this is a light liquid textured concealer for the best wear time I highly suggest setting with a powder but as far as pocket friendly concealers go this is a great option but any tips on how to keep it some what sterile would be most appreciated.

I just ordered the neutraliser and it came from the US pretty quickly so I'm so glad you've reviewed it! I love the normal concealer in this range so I'm looking forward to using this properly too xo
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try this for a while now but havent really seen them around, but the idea of the neutraliser one is great, definitely will be looking into that so thank you!

I saw these in Sainsburys! Didn't know about the neutralizer/brightner thanks for that fact :) but that shade would indeed be too bright and light for my tough under eye circles ._.
ReplyDeleteI do love the applicator though, so innovative!

I don't have under eye circles but I still want to highlight my eyes and make them stand out. So do you think this would be suitable just to use as a highlighter for under my eyes rather than covering up under eye circles?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
