There's not much to really say or not about the packaging, it is pretty enough with chrome accents and features a slimmer than usual lipstick bullet inside and does look slightly more expensive than your typical highstreet offering. No complaints what so ever - robust, attractive and functional. Job done!

At moment Bourjois offer six shades of their Shine Edition Lipstick line most of which are either bright or berry toned. Being a coral fiend I settled on Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick in 1,2,3 Soleil (shade 20) which is a bright slightly red toned coral. It does have a yellow undertone so it is fairly neutral and as it can be applied lightly for a sheer look it will work with your natural lip colour rather than masking it. You can of course apply in layers for a more intense look which does remind me a lot of MAC's Vegas Volt lipstick in terms of colour.

I've heard a few rumblings that the Bourjois Shine Edition Lipsticks are akin to Revlon's Lip Butters which I can somewhat agree with in that both formulas provide sheer, buildable colour that has a balm like quality. However the Bourjois formula has a far more glossy finish and is softer than the majority of the Revlon Lip Butter shades not to mention a little more moisturising. With such a soft formula you would expect a little slip and slide but I can happily vouch that the Shine Edition lipsticks stay put for at least 2 hours per application without bleeding or clinging to dry areas of the lips. Yes the shades are a little bright and maybe not totally appropriate for the colder months but the hydrating formula coupled with the hint of colour they deliver couldn't be more perfect for wind battered lips!
