This month Birchbox have teamed up with InStyle Magazine to create a on off must see box.
I have to hand it to Birchbox they do seem to be pulling out all the stops when it comes to comes to collaborations which they do so well - I still reach for my Birchbox Color Club Nail Polishes when it comes to pedicures! What I like about Birchbox is that each box comes with a fairly decent magazine and any products featured within the boxes are available to purchase from their e-shop which does make life easier if you fall head over heels for a lesser know product.
Less of my waffling and more of what is inside this month's Birchbox UK:
Bluemandarines SkinLife Energetic Cellular Cream (sample)
A light liquid lotion that is said to refresh, brighten and protect the skin. Truthfully I saw no immediate difference in my skin but it does absorb quickly and the light texture is perfect for oily complexions.
It is suggested to use this both AM and PM but personally I feel it is too light for the evening.
Gerda Spillmann Hydro Pearls (sample)
This is apparently a primer that will lock make-up in place which may well be the case if you have a normal skin type but it wasn't for me. I need something a little more intense that can contend with my oily skin but if you are looking for a primer that moisturises while remaining light this may be for you.
LAQA&CO Lil' Lip Pencil in Ring of Fire (sample)
Fans of chunky lip crayons will lap this up a bright pink based red lip shade that slicks on with ease, feels both comfortable and moisturising and wears rather well too. The shade is a little too bright for me but I may investigate the brand and see if they do this formula in a nude or coral shade.
Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Shower Gel (sample)
What can I say I simply adore Molten Brown products particularly their shower gels, they give the bathroom a little touch of elegance without being knee quakingly expensive. Fans of lady like flora scents will fall for the pretty and delicate tones of the Ylang Ylang version.
Montibel.lo Gold Oil Essence (sample)
In my opinion some hair oils smell rather rank but you slap them on none the less in the hope of awakening to luscious locks. Well not only does this hair oils smell utterly amazing (a little like Paco Rabanne Lady Million) but it contains Argan and Amber Oils to nourish and smooth the hair.
Propercorn (full size)
Sadly I loathe pop corn but I have it in good faith that the lightly sea salted version makes for a wonderful movie snack that is kind on the waist line too at under 50 calories per pack.
Birchbox Gel Mask
I have a slight weakness for cooling gel eye masks and having burst my last one this was a very welcome addition indeed. Basically you pop the eye mask in the fridge overnight (or for a good few hours at least) and use it when cool to reduce puffy - perfect for those like myself with hayfever.
I hope to see more collaborations in the future don't you?

Wow! Much better than my box!
ReplyDeleteI am French and I am also subscribed to Birchbox. I also received the mask, but I find it does not fit very well and the Lil'Lip look rather nice, but I would have liked to receive more nail pen. Too likely to have received pop corns, the packaging is super cool!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you get popcorn, that's pretty cool! Salty snacks is exactly what Glossybox is missing - I need energy to look through my box! x
ReplyDeleteI love these monthly boxes! Such bargains! Im subscribed to Glossybox and I love it!
