I didn't see much sun while on my summer holiday - it rained more than it did anything else but I am from the school of waste not want not and anything that gets this lazy gal to moisturise her body has to be good surely? Basically I returned home with an abundance of after sun products and no apparent obvious use for them as I do live in rainy, cold Glasgow.
Truthfully I do adore Vaseline's Spray and Go Moisturiser for day to day use but a few days ago I tried out a self tanning mousse that really dried out my skin (more on that another day) and the spray on formula just wasn't cutting it in the hydration stakes. After a quick rummage through my stash I stumbled upon Hawaiian Tropic's After Sun Body Butter and knew I had struck gold. Nothing seems to sort out dry skin on my body quick like this coconut concoction - I take it on any sun soaked holiday and rely on it to hydrate sun parched skin instantly. Not only does it smell utterly amazing with all its coconut glory but it is jam packed with skin nourishing ingredients including Coconut oil, Shea butter and Avocado oil.
These oils combine to form a truly luxuriously thick body butter than will hydrate even the driest skins in seconds without leaving the skin feeling sticky or taking an age to absorb. If my skin is in a somewhat normal state and not dried out I will use it straight after a shower on damp skin to dilute the formula but that of course is just my preference. Also if you want baby soft hands and/or feet apply this to those digits and tootsies, cover with gloves or socks and crawl into bed to awaken to smoother than smooth paws. A friend of mine has used Hawaiian Tropic's After Sun Body Butter as a deep conditioner (it was the last day of holiday and we had ran out of both resources and money) and now swears by it for frizz, dried out hair - I'm not convinced but hey it could be worth a go push come to shove.
Wither you are jetting off or getting a faux glow from a bottle every bathroom cabinet should have a jar of this coconut scented dreamy butter for those dry skin emergencies.
Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Body Butter currently £5.47/100ml via Superdrug - link
