This the one Essie polish I somehow have managed to own two bottle off along the way, odd seeing as I never ever reach for it and as a result sold one bottle within my blogsale. However sending one away to a new home made me realise just how pretty this light almost mint green turquoise is and I immediately painted it on my nails.
It was only then that I reaslised why I don't reach for this particular polish despite the beautiful hue - the formula, my god is the formula rubbish! A fine, streaky polish that requires at least three coats before it becomes opaque in parts and four for a perfect finish. Patience is not my strong point and needless to say that despite today's outing this polish will be neatly stored in the polish vaults once again!
Essie polishes seem to be more miss than hit these days if you ask me!

Such a lovely colour, it's a real shame about the formula :(. Megan xx
ReplyDeleteAww such a shame as the colour is so lovely :( xx
ReplyDeleteI have this one and actually love the formula! Maybe I'm just lucky or you're unlucky!

I have Fiji by Essie and it is just like this one!! Too much hype about this brand, I think.

Such a gorgeous shade!

I think Essie are really hit and miss. I've had some polishes where the formula is brilliant, then others where I actually gave up doing my nails in that colour because it was so streaky and bleugh xx

Generally I love Essie polishes but like you, found the formula of this dreadful! It's better if you apply over opaque white polish but still, for £7.99 a bottle, it should be better!

This looks like a Maybelline 'gel' type nail polish I just bought. The Maybelline formula is good (fine in 1 coat) and the colour seems very similar. The shade is 'forevermore green' if anyone is interested!
ReplyDeleteLove this colour. I haven't seen this one before

Beautiful shade. Shame about the streakiness. I'm not a very patient person myself so applying 4 coats in order to achieve a decent finish is just asking for trouble.
ReplyDeleteI agree essie polishes are hit & misses! However I've come across more hits than misses! This is a really pretty color I have it myself, and I agree the formula sucks! :c

Love the colour but, as with all polishes, 2-3 thin coats will always be better than one thick one. It's also worth investing in a good base coat, to give the product something to latch on to.
