Not really!
But it would be pretty cool to see a brand team up with some beauty bloggers to create a palette
or two a little like MAC did a few years ago stateside- if you are mentally naming your own palette I salute you. Anyway I digress today's post is all about a custom palette from FashionistA for MUA.
MUA recently asked me to create my own eye palette from the 40 shades of FashionistA eyeshadow that they now stock. For £7 you can create your own eyeshadow, cheek or mixed palette with four shades suited to your needs and taste or for £10 you can create a larger palette with 6 shades. Each individual pan also can be used as a stand alone shade should you not want the bulk of a full palette.
This time around I stepped out from underneath the umbrella of neutral eye shades and decided to construct a cool toned grey based palette...well mostly I did settle on one not so grey shadow too.
Frozen (Shade 1) - A light silver grey that has tiny flecks of silver glitter scattered throughout. A nicely pigmented shade that can be a little stark if used with a heavy hand.
Steele (Shade 3) - A mid toned cool grey that reminds me a little of MAC Scene eyeshadow as they both have a hint of blue running throughout. Again this had decent pigmentation and a frost finish.
School Days (Shade 4) - Another blue toned grey only this is much deeper in tone and a great but softer approach to a smoky eye than say a black eyeshadow. School Days reminds me of a glitter free version of MAC Knight Divine - another frost finish but with a difference this shade contains no glitter.
Subtle Glamour (Shade 21) - This was my wildcard shade a green tinged mauve - yep that sounds utterly disgusting but it is a little like MAC Club only the nuances have been flipped. Club is a green based brown eyeshadow that reflects purple in some lights and this is essentially a brown purple shade that reflects green.
Pretty cool. As a word of warning Subtle Glamour is jam packed with lots of tiny glitter particles that may not be to everyone's taste but it does give an interesting frost finish.
On the whole both past and present I have found the FashionistA pans of blush and eyeshadows to offer great colour pay off for a pocket friendly price and if worn with a primer you will experience up to 10 hours of wear. My only niggle is that the FashionistA pans of product can be a little dry and as a result prone to fall out.
You can purchase your custom palette via MUA Store* - link (£7 for a quad and £10 for six shades.)
* PR Sample sent for consideration of review.
Random Fact - Mosquito repellents don't repel. They hide you. The spray blocks the mosquito's sensors so they don't know you're there.
Having bloggers palettes is such a good idea!! Brands could sooo use it to their advantage!!

I was looking at these but I'm not sure how happy I am paying more for more or less the same product as MUA basic eyeshadows and palettes as I love those anyway. Interesting fact about mosquitoes!xx

I love these palettes, especially the blushes! It's so hard to find all the individual colours that you want, something is always out of stock! I think superdrug has discount on fashionista at the moment though. (Might be half price)

You picked some really lovely shades! I bought some from FashionistA before they got taken over and sadly MUA no longer carry the shades I bought, the London blush was particularly lovely.
