One more Back 2 MAC "purchase" if you will from the weekend and once more it is one of the shades from the Middle Eastern Collection of 2012 which the shades have now been made permanent.
Let's say hello to MAC Yash shall we.
I forgot to mention in my MAC Mehr Review - review link that such shade and Yash are actually re-promoted shades from the Mickey Contractor Collection of 2011 in which each shade had a Hindi name, Yash apparently means Success and Mehr (kindness in Persian) happens to Mickey Contractors wife name. Pretty cool huh? Anyway Yash is officially listed as a "deep neutral" which as you'd imagine is a strongly yellow tinged nude shade that neither leans warm nor cool. Despite being described as a neutral I would deem Yash to be a fairly deep nude type hue that may be a little to heavy in tone for those with a fair complexion however if you have a medium to deep skin tone this is a nude worth investigating as it is flattering slightly orange tinged light brown nude that reminds me of MAC Peachstock only far more wearable as it is less stark.
Much like Mehr, Yash is a matte formula which may put some off a little but to that I say don't put too much thought into it. MAC's matte formulas (unless retro matte) don't tend to be all that matte truth be told and as a result not as drying as some. I would still advise prepping your lips beforehand to ensure that it doesn't grip onto any dry areas - a quick lip scrub and a slick of lip balm should sort out most lips. For a matte lipstick this isn't at all drying nor is it moisturising but it does glide on fairly easily and delivers full opaque coverage without slipping or bleeding throughout the day. In terms of wear I found that this shade wore true for around three hours (not including eating and drinking) before it required a re-application which isn't terrible by any standards but not as long lasting as other matte formulas I have tested over the years.

ReplyDeleteI love matte lipsticks, they're my favourite formula! I own Taupe so I probably wouldn't pick this up, as the shades look pretty similar, but it's lovely nonetheless.
