If you ever have the misfortune of meeting me in real life you will more than likely notice that my pout will be painted in a bright coral shade. I would go as far as stating that 90% of my lip products are coral, peach and orange in tone and MAC's All About Orange collection has only encouraged said obsession. A few shades from the All About Orange collection have sold out online most notably MAC Flamingo but as this has still to launch in-store and via Selfridges and Debenhams so you are still within a fighting chance of snagging your favourite.
The MAC All About Orange collection is pretty lipstick heavy with seven shades most of which are new. In the end I only purchased three as I already own MAC Flamingo - review link and I have plans to pick up MAC Neon Orange from the pro line when I go to the states next month.
MAC Razzledazzler Lipstick
I'm pretty sure that MAC Razzledazzler is a re-promote but as the shade is so pretty who's complaining?
In my opinion MAC Razzledazzler is very similar to MAC Reel Sexy only this has a stronger orange leaning making the over all colour more coral. Out of the three shades I bought from the All About Orange collection I would deem this to be the most neutral, the most universally flattering and the truest coral shade so to speak. I really like MAC Razzledazzler Lipstick as it is such an easy neutral based coral shade to wear that should suit most due to the sheer type finish. This is a lustre finish so it does have a a high sheen finish and is one of MAC's more moisturising formula's.
MAC Sushi Kiss Lipstick
MAC Sushi Kiss and Razzledazzler aren't exactly worlds apart so my friendly piece of advice would be to pick one rather than purchasing both. The main difference between the two is that Sushi Kiss is a little lighter and brighter in tone and does remind me somewhat of the infamous MAC Cut-A-Caper lipstick- review link. Again MAC Sushi Kiss is a true typical coral lipstick - a perfectly balanced mix of orange and pink with a neutral yellow undertone that should suit most complexions. As much as I like the shade and colour pay off of MAC Sushi Kiss I have to admit that I'm not the hugest fan of the satin formula, I find it drying and it to emphasis any lip faults. That being said it does tend to wear a little longer than any of the other MAC formula's (matte's aside).
MAC Sweet and Sour Lipstick
In my humble opinion I have saved the best until last - MAC Sweet and Sour is my idea of the perfect dreamy coral come peach lip shade that I am seriously contemplating purchase a back up of. MAC list Sweet and Sour as a soft peach cream which is partially true but I find milky coral describes this shade best. To my eye MAC Sweet and Sour is a coral version of MAC Shy Girl. Out of the three shades I have from the All About Orange collection this shade has the best formula - a creamy easy to apply full coverage and intensely pigmented shade. The only downsides are that this shade is pretty stark and although fairly neutral on some skin tones this may be too light and as MAC Sweet and Sour is a cremesheen the creamy texture doesn't wear for much longer than an hour or so.
As much as I adore coral shades and ultimately the MAC All About Orange collection I don't for one moment suggest going out and snapping up all seven shades of the lipsticks as truth be told most are pretty similar. If you enjoy a coral lipstick or two this is the collection for you and I don't doubt for one moment that you won't find the perfect shade for you.

It's very hard to tell what the colours look like when the close up is so extreme. They all look exactly the same and very sheer/patchy.
ReplyDeleteCan you pull back and show us a bit of your face instead of just the lip.

Wow! Nice post! I've got loads of MAC lipsticks but most of them are MLBB or shade of red. Orange lipsticks never go well for me. Pink and dark red suits me better
