Color Club The Wanderlust Nail Lacquer Collection

Forget purchasing a beauty sample box this month in the hope that you will get something in the post that you will like and take that £10 and purchase Birchbox and Color Club's joint collaboration project in the form of four milky neon shades that your nails will thank you for all summer long!

Color Club The Wanderlust Nail Lacquer Collection

The Wanderlaust Collection by Color Club for Birchbox is to mark the beauty box giants brand revival in in the US and also to commemorate the re-brand within the UK, France and Spain and as a result each shade is named after a city in one of each of aforementioned countries/continents.  Within the cute quad you have three deliriously pretty pastel neons and one milky white shade which can be worn alone or under one of the brighter shades to enhance its neon qualities.

The four shades are:

London Calling - "A sunny mint green, inspired by the city’s myriad green spaces." In my opinion this is one of the prettiest green nail polishes that 2013 has had to offer so far. If you like L'Oreal Color Riche in Wasabi Hint you will enjoy this green hue. Although not identical they are very similar, I would say that the main difference is that London Calling is more pastel with a stronger yellow undertone and as a result more yellow in tone. This was fully opaque in two coats and had the glossiest finish.

Reign in Spain - "Evokes summer days under the Mediterranean sun." Isn't this shade just beautiful? I adore this milky neon pink tinged orange hue and liken it to a more orange version of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. Perhaps my favourite shade but not the best formula - this required three coats to become opaque but it did have a lovely creamy finish.

Pardon My French "A lavender shade is inspired by the candy-coloured macarons in the iconic bakeries of Paris." A bright yet light neon milky lilac, in my humble opinion this is almost identical to Illamasqua's Jo'mina nail lacquer. Out of the four shades this had the thinnest formula but oddly only needed two coats to become opaque and it dried down to a light sheen finish.

Mod in Manhattan - "A brilliant off-white that represents the glow of the mega-watt city at night." I will admit that I would never purchase this shade on its own but at close inspection there is something rather chic about this off white almost cream/beige shade. It has a sort of Kardashian manicure vibe and looks great on short nails not to mention it doubles up as a base coat for the other three polishes to really bring their neon pigment to life. When it came to application this is fully opaque in two coats with a light creme like sheen finish.

The Wanderlust Collection is technically constructed of four miniature polishes but at 7ml each they are far from dinky and in my opinion they are a brilliant travel and try out size without being too small. At 7ml you will get several applications from each shade and at £2.50 a polish it really is a case of great quality at a budget price. Snap this quad up now or forever regret it!
