In my mind there are two types of summer fragrances...actually make that three, yes three!
You have your bright fruity offerings, your typical aquatic beach themed fragrances and lastly the scents that remind you off warm, summer nights which might just be my favourite.
Growing up I was a little obsessed with American sitcoms and movies such as The Addams Family Values and Cheaper by the Dozen which all featured sitting round a camp fire at some point or other. Growing up in what essentially is a concrete jungle I of course didn't get to experience a camp fire. Huge out of control Bonfire's that burnt for longer than they should due to the wild locals yes, a twee camp side experience not so much. Anyway the point I'm trying to get to is that anything that promises to bring the outdoors indoors I will gravitate towards which brings me to Yankee's Fireside Treats scent.
Initially I was a little worried that Yankee Fireside Treats would be sickly sweet and be based on the marshmallow accent but it is honestly one of the most realist smoky fire scents I have ever encoutered.
Imagine the smoky yet comforting scent of a proper outdoor scent coupled with a sweet kick that is Marshmallow. I've never properly made smores (that is what you call fire roasted marshmallows isn't it?) but I imagine that Yankee Fireside Treats is a dead ringer for the authentic fragrance such event would create.
Does it bring the outside indoors? You betcha and although a summer scent which I would burn in the evening which a cheeky glass of sangria or two I also think Yankee Fireside Treats is one to keep in mind for the Autumn too.Fireside Treats is a truly original scent that captures the essence of being outdoors around a roaring fire, to try it is to love it.Heck you can even pretend to be at summer camp...not that I am currently trying to melt marshmallows and strum a guitar or anything.

Oh gosh, i NEED this!!
ReplyDeleteNow I want marshmellows, but I have to wait till I go home again and can make them over fire in our little garden :(.
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of campfires, this sounds something that is perfect. I wish that we had a little fireplace so that we could have fires year-round, though I don't think my dad would like that very much since we live in Southern Louisiana.
ReplyDeleteHaha I love your pictures, brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteNice review, I love Yankee Candles!

O Wow...I love it;)
ReplyDeleteI bought a tart with that scent. I´m really happy about it. The smell is amazing!
ReplyDeleteSmores are actually a "sandwich" made with graham crackers (like a square shaped digestive), a and piece of chocolate and the melted marshmallow in the middle - i.e. health food ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is quite a good idea, I thought at first that the scent would really put me off but not too sure now.

ReplyDeleteI heard about this coming out for their summer '13 collection, but haven't found it anywhere to sniff yet!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds amazing, I love the smell of a good fire and for the marshmallow sweetness mixed in too just sounds perfect to me and seems more of an autumn scent, than summer, but either way sounds good to me!
I'm off to order myself a couple of sampler versions of this to try. :P
