I'm not sure this is truly a beauty post but I do believe that if you eat well, you feel better about yourself and there is nothing more beautiful than someone who radiates confidence, a toe curling cringe worthy statement yes but true none the less.
Recently I made the decision to give up junk food, snacks and sugary drinks with a treat allowed one day a week...normally the day that I am so frazzled that a pizza or bar of chocolate is all that will do. Yes I have lost weight (around half a stone) and although that is a bonus feeling better about myself is what gives me that push to keep on going.
If like myself you aren't the most clued up about nutrition (let's face it can you really know too much?) or perhaps want to find out what foods are great for helping sort out problematic skin from the inside out you need to invest in the Neal's Yard Remedies Healing Foods Book. It is time to come clean I am an uber geek and not in an ironic let's wear geek chic clothes and glasses, nope not me my glasses are because I am as blind as bat and I am that sad sack that will queue up to be first in line to see the newest J.R.R.Tolkien film adaption. What's that got to do with the Neal's Yard Remedies Healing Foods Book? Well it feeds (pun fully intended) my geeky fascination with facts and also provides a whole slew of yummy recipes to try out which cater to all needs - vegan etc.
Okay it may not be your typical beach read or one for the daily commute but I have found myself spending hours pouring over the pages and learning how to take care of myself a little better which is a big step considering I used to kid myself that I was healthy as long as I got salad on my burger...oh Adrienne!
As an end thought don't you think it is pretty cool that a brand I know as a skin care aimed company has branched out into books?

ReplyDeleteI have just started a review blog about natural and organic products and it would be fantastic if you could pass by, have a read and let me know what you think!

Omg I want this book! I wish cookbooks had more nutritional information in them. I have a seasonal salads book which is great except it isn't very clear which season you should eat each salad in... xxx

I'd really like to get this so I can educate myself about healthy foods - I think I know enough to get along but like you said, you can never know too much. It would also be especially handy when considering recipes to make for the family! Defrost popping it in my amazon wish list! Xo
