Over the last year or so I have familiarised myself with various mechanical cleansing methods and newly on the block is the Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush.
Basically the idea behind such tools is that using a little extra power and massage pulses the brush can cleanse deeper, exfoliate more efficiently than manual cleansing i.e hot cloth and cleanser.
A quick run down of how the Philips VisaPure works before I share my experience. Basically much like any facial cleansing brush that is not manual it features a rotating soft bristled head as well as a sensitive brush (there is also a seprate exfoliating brush head available for individual purchase) that gently but effectively cleanses and buffs away any dead, dry skin. The Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush is so gentle that you can use it twice a day and it features two different speed settings as well as a manual shut off system. The aforementioned manual shut off system is essentially a timer to let you know that you have cleansed that particular area of your face long enough. When using I split my face and neck into four areas : my forehead and nose, my chin and neck and my two cheeks/side of my face. Adding to the convenience factor the Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush comes with a charger gone are the days of turning the house upside down for the sake of two AA's!
The very last brush head with the pink bristles is the sensitive version.
In total I have been using this for three months now and vouch that it works for the first use and you will see instant results which include smoother, softer and more radiant skin but the downside is that once I stop using it my skin goes back to being dull and unpredictable. I have been using Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush twice a day with a gel cleanser which has more often than not been Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. The first month of use went really smoothly and a good few people commented on how good my skin was looking, it was clearer, brighter and oh so soft but then entered the dreaded purge stage. For two weeks I a small collective of white heads (nasty I know) invaded my face mainly my t-zone which does happen to be where my skin is it's oiliest. Luckily they cleared up quickly and haven't returned and on the whole my skin has been much clearer (hormonal outbreaks aside), less oily, softer and much less prone to being dull but like I said this does fade as soon as I stop using the Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush. I guess my only solution is to stick with it eh!
Not that I mind as it is the best facial cleansing brush I have tried to date and in my opinion the best value for money too!

I love the look of this cleanser, would you say it was worth the investment or would you get a Clarasonic Mia instead?

I'm happy with this and essentially see all brushes of this sort the same thing with various price tags. I like how easy this one is to use and the fact that replacement brushes are cheap too :) x
DeleteGreat review, I'd love to give this a go, I'll have to save up first though! haha!

Wow it sounds amazing :) I tried the Sigmas answer to the clarisonic and it wasn't half as good. I think you get what you pay for xx
