This press release of sorts just landed in my inbox and I knew from the get go that it is something that will not only interest MAC Cosmetic lovers (yup me) but any make-up fan or those keen on mastering a set make-up based skill.
I'm sure this is not entirely a new concept as you could pop into MAC counters in the past and pay for a make-over which normally included a demo on a key area such as learning how to properly fill your brows or contour. However the new menu is much more expansive and offers a theatrical option which is entirely new and oh so exciting.
So what can you learn to do and what services are available?
- Express Make-up in 30 minutes (£20), a personalised make-up demonstration focusing on on key area of the face.
- Bridal & Special Events in 90 minutes (£50), a MAC artist will create a custom-k for a wedding day or special event.
- Theatrical Make-up in 90 minutes (£50) for fantasy, stage, drag or Halloween looks.
Other services which prices have not yet been disclosed include:
- One-to-one services include Make-up in 60 minutes
- Make-up Lesson in 90
- Ready For More? MAC Technique - my guess is that this is a class sharing the tips and tricks of MAC artists.
It also states that there a complimentary service menu which shows how to master specific looks and features, as well as advancing existing skills and false-lash application. So for instance you can take along an image of someones make-up and a MAC artist will show you how to re-create the look at home.
The new services are available from selected MAC locations and I am oh so tempted to go along and try out the the Theatrical Make-up in 90 minutes option.
What do you think?
Drolling.. they look so pretty...

This is such good value for the services, but I do find when I go in for a makeover they are very over the top with my make and have to walk around all day looking like a drag queen!

So not worth it.. I mean, really, we have YouTube for a reason, especially experienced pro makeup artists like Wayne goss and Lisa Eldridge.. Once again MAC is trying to rip off their customers. Not surprised in the least.

It sounds like a good idea in theory, but I don't know - personally I'd rather sit and watch tutorials on youtube; it's free after all. Thanks for sharing, though. It's interesting to know that this option is available if I want it. :)
ReplyDeleteIs the price redeemable against purchases?
