Dull skin is something I struggle with particularly during the colder months so I do tend to stockpile skincare products that promise or at least aim to illuminate the skin somewhat.
The newest addition to my skincare stash is Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm which is essentially a primer of any other name.
Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm in terms of consistency is pretty thick but instantly absorbed into the skin with a cooling sensation. Although thick it spreads really easily and a little goes a long way, my only criticism would be that Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm is quite strongly scented, not unpleasant by any means (floral scent) but I do prefer skincare products for my face to be unscented.
Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm has been designed to smooth, soothe and instantly hydrate the skin all of which it does, despite being a thicker balm like product it is not at all heavy on the skin and is a fairly light moisturiser which is great for the warmer weather or for oily skin types like my own.
Unlike other priming products this does not even out the skin tone nor will it help disguise pores rather it gives a slight glow to the skin as well as a light barrier of moisture and providing a lovely canvas to apply make-up on top off. What I like about Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm is that it gives the skin a beautiful and truly natural looking dewy finish without the need for shimmer or glitter particles. Disappointingly it doesn't contain an SPF which stops it from sneaking into my daily routine as my morning moisturiser.
If you are looking for a base or illuminating moisturiser then I do think Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm is a great choice particularly for normal to dry skin types that don't require any help with skin tone or enlarged pores but as someone with oily skin and enlarged pores I need something that can help keep excess sebum at bay as well as disguising my pores not an easy feat let me tell you.
Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm* will launch in May.

I'm looking forward to this launch... going on my wishlist right now! x
ReplyDeleteI've been using it on shoots instead if the clarins bfb and it gives better results! It also works as a mixer to sheer out foundation. Not too bad it doesn't have SPF because for pro use SPF for the face is not too hd friendly under studio lights and flash photography :-) x
