As mentioned in my Revlon Wild Watermelon Lip Butter post -review link, just in time for Spring/Summer 2013 four new and limited edition shades of Revlon's ever loved lip butter formula will be temporarily joining the line up : Wild Watermelon, Juicy Papaya, Sorbet and Pink Lemonade.
If that is not enough for all hard core Revlon fans three previously US exclusive shades will become permanent members of the lip butter line up this month too: Red Velvet, Brown Sugar and Sugar Plum.
I apologise in advance not only to my bank account but yours also!
Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet is the summer pink every girl or woman will want in their collection, it's a bright almost neon yellow based pink that is neutral enough so that it will be flattering on most skin tones.
The beauty of Revlon's Lip Butters is that they are a middle ground between a lip balm and lipstick so you have a good amount of colour pay off without being overly bold which can be great when it comes to particularly bright shades. Revlon Sorbet reminds me a little of MAC's Impassioned but a little more muted and much more glossy in finish. Summed up the perfect bright shade for Summer which will look wonderful with a pop of turquoise on the eyes!
I will level with you all and say that I have not yet fully wear tested the new shades but as the formula is identical to all the other shades (Peach Parfait aside) it doesn't take a genius to figure how that Sorbet will behave in a similar manner.
Generally speaking the Revlon Lip Butters are well pigmented and glide on very much like a traditional lip balm. Yet they offer superior colour pay off in comparison to a standard tinted lip balm.
Each shade gives a semi-opaque coverage of colour with a light glossy finish,
they are very moisturising and comfortable to wear and should you wish you can build the colour up in layers. I liken these a little to Mac Cremesheen lipsticks as they feel and wear very similar on my lips,
obviously each one of us will have different results but this is what they remind me of.The Revlon Lip Butters have a very mild typical lipstick scent but nothing noticeable when worn.
I found these to wear around 2-3 hours some shades wore longer than others
but they are not exactly long lasting, all in all a wonderful formula for the warmer months.
Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet has yet to launch but will do this month (no exact date as of yet)
but I would check out all your local Revlon counters as that is where I found mine.
it looks so pretty!

Loved reading this! its such a pretty colour!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely on you! I am thinking of getting a few of these as I find balms work well in the daytime when I am at work as opposed to re-applying lipstick xo

This looks really similar to Lollipop but this looks more creamy than that shade. I'll definitely be swatching this as I really liked Lollipop but it seems a tad too dark and like previous shades I own so I never bought it. :D
ReplyDeleteI hope Revlon bring out more shades for their lip butter range in future!
