Gel nail polishes are a fairly new addition to the UK high street with brands such as Revlon being the first to launch their offering - Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel at £7.99 a pop. I know £8 isn't all that bargainous for the high street but I will be the first to say that said formula is worth every penny - Spanish Moss if my personal favourite.
Newly launching on the 8th of May is budget friendly brand Collection offering - Lasting Gel Colour Nail Polish which will compose of fifteenth new shades that will cost £3.19 each (in theory you could buy two of Collections polishes at full price for the price of one Revlon shade).
Collections Lasting Gel Nail Colour features a wide brush think Essie's diffusion line brush and you will have the general idea. The large flat tear drop shaped brush coats the nail in one quick sweep and is a great time saver, if you have narrow nails it can be a little messy but is wonderful for the toe nails.
The formula promises to be very cutting edge with each gel technology which does not require a top coat or protective layer to lock the colour in place with a high sheen finish for at home salon results which I have to agree with. Collections Lasting Gel Nail Polish applies with such ease, dries to a high gel finish and is not prone to chips - I tested it without a top coat and did all the house work, went to the gym, ran errands and helped with some gardening and all of my swatches remained the same...brilliant!
Red Hot- a classic true red, three coats were needed to become fully opaque.
Almost Nude - a light nude, fairly neutral so should suit most, two coats were need for full opaque coverage.
Watermelon - A bright yellow pink that borderlines coral, my personal favourite, this needed three coats for full opaque coverage.
For £3.19 I can not fault the formula of shades for that matter and will be wearing Watermelon on my tootsies all summer long.
The Collection Lasting Gel Colour Nail Polish* will launch May 8 in Superdrug and May 15 in Boots stores for £3.19 each.
- * all three shades were sent for consideration of review.
