One last review to finish the day off and this evening I have decided to dip back into my E.L.F stash which pf course was accumulated with the aid of their recent 50% sale.
As most will know I am a complete fiend for anything coral or peach in tone when it comes to make-up so I simply had to have E.L.F's Studio Blush in Peachy Keen.
I'm sure the comparison between NARS and E.L.F packaging is something most will have touched on at some point or other.
They certainly are similar in style with the main difference being that the E.L.F version lacks the rubberized finish - it is completely plastic and as a result does feel and look a little cheaper. I guess budget brands have to skimp somewhere in order to cut costs and if that happens to be the packaging element so be it...better that than the product formulation.
One thing I must credit E.L.F for is the inclusion of a transparent window on their blushes, when you own a few the last thing you want to do is hunt for a certain shade.
E.L.F Studio Blush in Peachy Keen is of course a peach shade and in my opinion quite a light one at that, in the pan it appears deeper in tone that it applies or swatches for that matter.
Peachy Keen is a light yellow based blush shade that has been tinged with an element of golden shimmer.
In my opinion although suited to most skin tones in theory due to the yellow undertone the pigmentation just isn't there for mid to deep complexions and it may turn ashen on some.
That being said fully blended out it does make a flattering and subtle highlight on deeper tone but yeah this is certainly a shade I would recommend to lighter skin tones.
It is only fair that I stress that E.L.F blushes retail at full price £3.75 so they are great candidates for the cheap and cheerful category, to compare them to the quality and standard of MAC and NARS blushes is a little unfair. What I will say is the the E.L.F formula is fairly hit and miss, sadly Peachy Keen is a miss for my skin tone and one of the shades I have found to be a little dry and chalky in formula.
If you are looking for well pigmented peach/coral shade then I recommend E.L.F's Candid Coral.
E.L.F's Peachy Keen has a shimmer finish which truthfully didn't present a problem for my enlarged pores, rather than emphasis my open pores it added a little radiance and would allow you to skip highlighting if you so wished and had a light complexion.
Sadly the wear time wasn't too great at around 6 hours per application with primed skin but then again I do have oily skin so that can be to blame at times.
