This weekend I have did pretty much nothing other than go to the cinema to see Django Unchained (I do adore Quentin Tarantino) and quite literally waste my time watching Geordie Shore on Netflix...oops!
Suffice to say Sunday has come around a little quickly and like a school child packing their bag
for the week ahead I am rummaging through my make-up stash to prepare for what this week
has to offer, kicking of with a trip to Edinburgh...yeah buddy!
Face and Eyes
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation £4.99 via Boots* - link
I tested this foundation out quite some while ago and as I didn't hate it I have decided to dig it out the
stash and give it another whirl, i'm hoping to overcome the sticky sensation it often has when first applied.
Does anyone else find Rimmel foundations to be a little sticky/tacky when first applied?
Benefit Peek-a-Bright Eyes Kit £24.50 via Benefit* - link
If like myself you like your eye make-up to be fuss free and simple then you must try out Benefit's Peek-a-Bright Eyes Kit, it contains all you need (minus mascara) to create a simple neutral eye look
that gives the appearance of bigger, brighter eyes.
Team this kit with a nude eye liner for maximum impact...Bambi watch your step boy!
Look Beauty Holiday Glow Bronzer in Ibiza £4 via Look Beauty - link
I wouldn't really deem this a bronzer as it is more of a sun kissed peach blush that has light silver
shimmer particles so it brightens as it adds a healthy flush of colour.
Ibiza is the perfected muted shade to perk up dull winter skin without going over the top.
Lips
Revlon Lip Butters in Raspberry Pie and Peach Parfait £5 each via Boots - link
With so many new lip butter type products hitting the cosmetic market it is so easy to forget about the Revlon versions that launched last year!
Raspberry Pie is a bright, blue based deep pink that goes perfectly with muted yet defined make-up
and Peach Parfait although slightly gritty in texture is a great everyday shade that is a staple product
for me in the summer months.
MAC Pink Treat Cremestick Lip Liner £11.50 via MAC - link
Like many a beauty junkie I have countless lip liners but MAC Pink Treat is my favourite pink shade ever
and I truly mean that!
It goes with almost any pink toned lipstick or gloss not to mention it works so well on it's own.
I must pick up another sharpish!
Are you shopping your stash this week?
Ooh! Have fun in Edinburgh! I'm shopping my stash this week as I prepare for a blog sale. :) <3
ReplyDeleteThe Revlon Lip butters look amazing, I really want to try them! xxx

I really need to start shopping the stash! I have been updating my makeup storage this week and found so many products I have swatched then never touched since x
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Rimmel foundations do seem a little tacky/sticky, especially the wake me up one. The Mac lip liner looks lovely, my MAC wishlist is getting longer and longer every day!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with the sticky foundation problem, I find a lot of high street ones are like that for me unfortunately! x
ReplyDeleteLovin Revlon Lip butters :) Thinking about getting more "statement lips" colors, like Lollipop :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right, lips butters are the new BB cream lol! I have a few Revlon ones, and 1 Caresse. Haven't tried the Maybelline one yet.
ReplyDeleteWow, Benefit palette looks gorgeous! I have Big Beautiful eyes one and can see the improvement in the new one - is that a concealer in that little thingy with a lid?
ReplyDeleteYou're just right the Match Perfection foundation is a bit tacky, but I find that once I've done the rest of my makeup, it's usually fine and nothing a light dusting of powder doesn't fix. I absolutely love it, but then again I have dull very dry skin - actually been using this more than my beloved Illamasqua one, and that's saying something!
ReplyDeletehave fun away, I'm enjoying all the JS references! ;) haha x

I love your "Shopping the Stash" idea, really cool! I may try it as lots of my makeup goes untouched because I just can't get to it all! Just discovered your blog, loving it! Have a lovely day :)

Pink toned lipstick is my favorite style. Very cute.2013 evening dresses uk
ReplyDeleteI bought that Rimmel foundation a few months ago and I like it. It's probably the best high street foundation I came across. My only problem with it is that it emphasisis dry patches around the nose so I'll save it for my summer skin :)
ReplyDeleteI finally saw Revlon lip butters here and they cost 12 euros!!!
ReplyDeleteI use the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation and it is slightly tacky when you put it on but once you buff it in it's fine. I love it, I must have repurchased about 10 times!
ReplyDeleteI've just started my blog and would love if you could have a little look :)
