While perusing the beauty stands in my local Superdrug I noticed that the Look Beauty range was
all discounted to half price including the new products so I couldn't resist picking up
Look Beauty Fresh Cheeks Cream Blush in Melon to put to the test.
Yes it's a little bright for what feels like the never ending winter we are in the midst of
but I figure it won't be long until we are all dusting of those beloved corals
and sporting flip flops once more!
Encased within a small, round, flip top compact with a little mirror on the bottom is a bright pink coral
blush that has been dubbed Melon.
Look Beauty's Hyper Melon appears to be a yellow based coral in the pan but once swatched it turns
slightly more pink in tone but keeps it's neutral undertone so most skin tones will find this shade flattering.
I would like to warn you all that this shade is crazily pigmented so do approach with a less is more attitude,
I find dotting a little on with my fingers and then blending in with a stipple brush to be an effective method.
If you like or perhaps love Topshop's Cream Blush in Neon Rose - link then this is a pretty good dupe
and with it being half price a complete snip!
Like most cream blushes Look Beauty's formula has a slightly slippery almost oily texture,
however once applied to the skin they do loose the shiny/oily appearance and settle to a light dewy finish in a matter of moments without creeping into open pores and/or fine lines.
The beauty of cream blushes in my opinion is that the look far more natural on the skin compared to a powder blush as they give a glow to the skin and they don't tend to mask the natural skin underneath.
Surprisingly I find cream blushes to wear rather well on my oily skin type
and found this formula to wear for around 6 hours before it began to fade.
Normal and dry skin types should experience longer wear and as a side note I do not see this
blush presenting any problems for dry skin types.
Look Beauty Fresh Cheeks Cream Blush in Melon currently £2.50 (usually £5) via Look Beauty - link
but is also available from selected Superdrug stores too!

Really pretty shade and I love the name xx
ReplyDeleteDespite the color being a summery coral, I prefer to wear colors like this during the winter to perk up dull winter skin. The color is just lovely, it's a shame they don't have that brand in the US. x
