I know we are barely into 2013 but so far it has been the year of taupe eyeshadow for myself,
so many new taupe shades have sneaked their way into my make-up bag that it is border line
ridiculous so today's review will come as little of a surprise really.
Another taupe shade...whoops!

The thing with Elizabeth Arden cosmetics is that each item is always presented in a well thought out
and striking manner, in the duo's case it is a gold and silver compact with the ever famous red door
front and present, yes the casing is plastic but to look at it you'd never know.
Inside you will find a good sized and high quality mirror along with a sponge applicator which I loathe
and never hold on to but all in all it is pretty, light and sturdy...what more could you ask for?

Elizabeth Arden's Shimmering Taupe is a mix of purple, brown and grey tones that give an almost mink shade on my skin tone, I would say that the purple undertone is what prevails the most giving it an overall cool tone.
Taupe is essentially a suit all shade that can be used in a whole manner of looks but my favourite way to wear it isteamed with grey shades for a cool toned smoky eye look.
Shimmering Taupe really allows blue and green eyes to pop but as mentioned it really does suit all
and makes for a beautiful highlight option on deep skin tones.
As with all Elizabeth Arden eyeshadows this is finely milled and packed with pigmentation,
it blends beautifully with next to no fall out and is a joy to wear due to the light, buttery texture.
In terms of wear when applied with a primer it fairs for around 10 hours on my oily eye lids
and when worn alone around the 7 hour mark.
