A Full Frontal Nude Affair

Oh la la, what a naughty title indeed!
Last week I chatted about my ever growing love affair with shades that are classed as nude pinks,
well I'm back and today I would like to speak in hushed tones about my bit on the side - the nude family!

For years I swore off nude lipstick deeming it to look bizarre and whispered to my then beloved Lancome juicy tube in fraise that the two of us will never be parted...I lied.
Well as nice as Juicy Tubes are I'm so over jelly type glosses and find myself much more at home these days
with a warm nude lipstick but matte finishes need not apply.
When it comes to nudes to prevent them becoming flat they require a glossy finish unless you are a Stila Liquid Lipstick but that is own seprate post!

So what are my favourites?
It was a tough call reigning it in to my top four but I knew I had to include YSL's Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in Blonde Ingenu (review link) which is the lightest nude in my collection not to mention it is Lana Del Ray's signature shade. If you want plumper yet natural looking lips (I know Lana is not the poster child for this statement  then this is the shade I recommend.

For a simple yet glossy nude option that will suit everyone as it is fairly sheer then you need to pop along to your local Soap & Glory counter and invest in their Gloss Stick in Nudist (review link).
Nudist is the perfect every day shade that you can slick on and forget about not to mention it looks killer
with a smoky eye look and is not sticky like a typical gloss.

New to the nude line up is Rimmel's Apocalips in Nude Eclipse (review link) - a light, creamy toffee shade,
which reminds me so much of OCC Lip Tar's in texture with a reduced price tag.
Truthfully I couldn't tell you which I prefer more the texture or shade of this product but one thing
is for sure Rimmel stockists will not be able to stop these from flying off the shelves.

Last but in no means least is my current lip stick obsession which is of course Clarins Rogue Eclat in Nude Rose (review link), I don't posses the ability to gush how much I adore not only the shade but also the formula, imagine Revlon Lip Butters on steroids and you have the idea.
You need to at least test one of these babies out at your local counter!

What are your favourite nude lip shades if any?

  1. I've never worn any nude lip shades. I use lipstick to give some colour to my face when I'm not doing it with eyeshadow. I think a nude lip would make my face look flat.

    Maybe it's time to experiment.

  3. The only nude shade I've found that doesn't make my olive skin look corpse-like is Rouge Dior Nude Lip Blush in Charnelle. Every other nude just makes me look sickly.
