I'm back with another glitter nail polish, what a surprise eh?
Well actually this one is a little different from what I normally showcase in the sense that it is matte
and typically myself and matte nail polish don't get along but there is something rather special about
this particular shade so much so that I have made an exception and decided to share it with you all.
Rimmel Precious Stones nail polishes are fairly new additions to the already extensive Rimmel nail polish
dynasty and are available in two shades.
I have shade 001 Diamond Dust which is a smoky blue tinged grey base with small holographic
glitter particles in abundance.
The idea behind this polish is that you not only get a funky glitter finish but also a tinge of colour too
but for best results I really do recommend applying it on top of a similar shade - I have used Rococo's
Gothic Lolita which is a deep metallic gunmetal hue.
Once applied Diamond dust quickly settles to a matte finish which in my opinion give the glitter a slightly
more grown up edge and is slightly more muted than usual so perhaps may be more office appropriate.
However if like myself matte nail polish isn't fully your thing a quick coat of a high shine top coat
and you can completely transform the shade!
What do you think of matte glitter nails? Yay or nay?
Rimmel l Precious Stones in Diamond Dust* £3.99/8ml via Boots - link
but also avaliable at most Rimmel stockists such as Superdrug.
That looks lush! I tried the Barry M glitter polish and it was great but the glitter particles are very fine. I like the look of that one though :)

This is lovely!I love matte glitter nails - like you, I think they look a bit more grown up and interesting. I'll definitely be picking up a bottle of this next time I'm in Superdrug :)

I have never tried a polish by Rimmel but I love that company. That polish is just packed with color. I like the matte look also.
ReplyDeleteDamnnn, I'm in love with the Rimmel nail polish, is such a shame here in Romania we can't find new things we have the same old stuff we always had, no revlon lip butters, no new nail polishes, no nothing :(

Wow, the finish is amazingly similar to Butter London Gobsmacked, which I reviewed a while ago, but at a third of the price!

This is the first time i have encountered a Matte glitter nail polish and the results look pretty damn good! The Rococo's colour reminds me of my NARS full metal jacket which is a silver metallic nail polish that i love to use during the autumn every year. Loving the combination and i always give massive thumbs up to rimmel nail polishes aswell as the barryM ones :) Thanks for sharing xxx
ReplyDeleteOh I neeeeed that glitter polish, looks awesome!

This looks amazing! x
ReplyDeleteI absolutley love this, I wore it yesterday one every nail without a colour coat underneath and everyone loved it, I had so many compliments! It didn't wear very well even with two top coats and was off the next day, a bit like gosh hologram polish so I kept their 24hour statment in mind which made me feel a lot better!!
