on various American blogs I knew it had to be mine, not much really spoke to me from the Glamour Daze
collection but the pretty yet dark glitter polish had me hook, line and sinker.
In the bottle Everything That Glitters appears to be a black jelly base with a mix of blue and pink
fine microscopic glitter particles that twinkle brighter than a night fall sky when you move the bottle around.
However that is where my praise ends as once it is on the nails it is watery, dries flat and matte
and pretty much looses all the appeal that lured me in the first place.
When worn alone it took a good few coats (around four) to gain full coverage and then once dry it settles
to an almost matte finish which saps out all of it's original appeal in my opinion.
You can of course add a top coat for added sheen, I know MAC nail polishes don't always get a good
write up but out of the five that I own and have tested over the past year or so this is the first
to have let me down so I'm hoping it won't be a reoccurring trend with future purchases.
MAC Nail Lacquer in Everything That Glitters £11/10ml via MAC - link
Shame it was a let down as looks super gorgeous in the bottle...
ReplyDeleteRachel from www.whatabeauty.co.uk x
Tell me about it :( I was so excited about this shade...oh well onwards and upwards :)
DeleteOh man, what a let down!
ReplyDeleteI hate polishes that are deceptively beautiful in the bottle and don't follow through on the nails :(
Love, Elise xx

Tell me about it :( I even tried it over a black polish to see if it worked any better but nope the exact same result...gah!
Deletesorry it was no good. the polish looks pretty in the bottle! i am honestly not impressed with mac nail polish. such a shame...
ReplyDeleteI agree they are so hit n miss!
DeleteUgh, I really don't like that polish once it has dried. I tried a polish from Mac's style seeker collection and didn't like the consistency of that polish either.
ReplyDeleteMe neither :( for £11 I expected more.
Deletethis is so pretty, shame about the finish :(
ReplyDeleteAgreed :(
DeleteDisappointing about the finish, looks so nice in bottle, thanks for testing it:)

DeleteIt looked gorgeous on the bottle. This was the only shade I was interested in.
ReplyDeleteAh sorry about that :( Others have said there is good dupes though :)
Deletethat is such an amazing colour!:)

DeleteGorgeous colour in the bottle! Shame about the actual product! I like mac nail lacquers but I probably won't get this one! :(
ReplyDeleteNo skip this one it is such a let down but Boy Trouble and Mean and Green are lovely :)
DeleteIt does look gorgeous in the bottle, i had such high hopes!!

if you love this in the bottle then you should try models own 'thunder and lightning' it is beautiful just like this mac shade in the bottle and is even more spectacular on the nails! give it s go,
ReplyDeleteLove,
Belle.x
On the list it goes :)
DeleteBought 1 MAC polish in the past, hated it, returned it asap...I really, really want this polish, however after seeing the price, I rather get Deborah Lippmann once.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! However the others that I have by MAC are fine so I'm still open minded about them :)
DeleteI'm sure if you added a layer or two of a good top coat it will look heaps better... that is a lot of layers to wear though
ReplyDeletehttp://kitschsnitch.blogspot.com.au/
It really was :( I was hoping that the added layers would maybe make it less matte...I know where is the logic in that haha!
DeleteThat is disapointing as the colour does look like it would be dreamy x
ReplyDeleteAgreed ah well :)
DeleteThis is gorgeous. I have a polish a lot like it from Topshop
ReplyDeleteX
Do you know the name of the Topshop one? Is it Gypsy nights by any chance?
DeleteHmm disappointing then :-\
ReplyDeleteVery much so.
DeleteBeautiful in the bottle but what a disappointing product in practice! Very shoddy.
ReplyDeleteAgreed 100% :(
DeleteIn the bottle this seems like a dupe of Butter London's "The Black Knight". If you have access to Sally Hansen, there is a color called "Rockstar Pink", an opaque hot pink based multiglitter. I made my friend a franken using about 3/4ths Rockstar Pink & 1/4th of any opaque black cream polish & the results were indistinguishable from "The Black Knight". We saved ourselves $14 USD that way ^__^ .
