Rimmel have recently launched a whole array of new products for the Autumn season
but one product that is causing hysteria amongst us beauty junkies is the Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Pencil in Taupe which has drew comparisons in terms of colour to Chanel's Frenzy Nail Polish.
The new Rimmel Scandal Eyes kohl liners come in a good few shades including the staple black.
Packaging wise there's nothing all that fancy nor is there anything worth complaining about,
basically they are plastic pencils that are colour coordinated to match the liners lead shade
and that are easy to sharpen as they are plastic and not wooden so it shaves effortlessly
with less waste, in many aspects they are similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 liners.
The Taupe shade is a cool toned brown with a slight purple undertone,
it does pull slightly grey on my skin but most shades of this sort behave in the same manner.
The beauty of this shade and formula is that it can not only be worn in the typical sense
but you can blend the creamy formula all over the eye lid as a cream eye shadow colour
or use it in the same way you would use an eyeshadow base.
I find it to be a great partner for the Naked 2 palette and imagine it will be beautiful with green eyes!
I have to say that for a drug store liner these have to be one of the creamiest and easiest to apply
that I have encountered in a long, long time.
The glide on not only the lid but also any of the lash lines and the water line without any problems
and as it is a waterproof formula it does cling to the skin and wears very well.
Now I'm not going to lie and say it wears all day but when worn on the lid as an eye base
I get around 8 hours of wear and around the same maybe slightly shy of the 8 hours on both of my
lash lines and around 4 hours on my waterline but my eyes do have a terrible habit of watering.
If you are looking for a good all round eye pencil the Scandal Eyes are well worth picking up
and blow many high end formulas out of the water!
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Pencil in Taupe £3.99/1.2g and is available from
both Superdrug and Boots and most Rimmel stockists.
Oooh, i am very happy to see this! It's the closest replacement I've ever come to my beloved Chanel Rose Platine after Avon's Golden Fawn (both are disconned).

Like it!!! It's similar to Maybelline Tatoo eyeshadow in Taupé, maybe a little bit lighter, isnt' it?
ReplyDeleteReally want to try these!:)

For the price, this eyeliner seems pretty good from Rimmel :) I really adore some of their products such as their holy grail eyebrow pencil that i have been using for years now. My eyes always water too, so i am not too sure whether this will be waterproof enough for me to use as i do tend to find that a handful of products that claim to be waterproof...struggles to keep its claim on my eyes unfortunately. This is a lovely colour though, and i understand why you say that it goes hand in hand with the Naked palette :) Thanks for the post xxx
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem. I purchased Urban Decay 27/7 after hearing the great reviews. I put it on my waterline and one hour later it was gone. Can you tell me if you managed to find an eyeliner which did stay on your waterline?
DeleteI'm an eyeliner fiend and these look great. I especially love the colour because many brands just do your your regular brown, black, white and a few colors - but hardly any do a nice taupe colour. Great suggestions on how to use it too - I never would have thought to use it as an all over shadow colour, and thanks for the tip about green eyes - I have green eyes and always trying to experiment with different colors to find ways to make them pop!
