I for one was massively sucked in by the beautiful promotional images
of MAC's Office Wear Collection and had a list as long as my arm of the items
I planned on picking up as soon as the collection hit the shelves.
All that was fine and dandy until I saw the collection in person and realised
I pretty much owned it all in dupe form and backed away slowly before I bought stuff I didn't need.
I didn't make it very far before giving in to temptation and purchasing yet another peachy lip product!
I don't really want to dwell too much on the packaging but the Pro Longwear Lipglasses
come presented within a style typical of MAC with a black lid, black lettering and a transparent
body with a doe foot style applicator with a difference!
The difference being that the doe foot is slightly shaped and moulded to work with natural contours
of your lips, it flexes and bends with ease and is much better than any other doe foot applicator
I have used in the past.
In the Office Hours collection the Pro Longwear Lipglasses come in 8 limited edition shades,
they range is fairly neutral but there is a beautiful red tone that is prefect for Fall.
I of course went for Persistent Peach which is a more of a pink than peach
and I guess if we are really splitting hairs due to it's slight orange tone it will deemed a coral.
Persistent Peach is nothing new but it is a beautiful shade that is fairly universal
and works equally well on it's own or layered over another lip shade.
In terms of dupes off the top head Barry M's Coral lip gloss is pretty similar!
Now on the the formula...let's just get the negatives out the way first.
It is rather sticky which I do not recommend wearing on windy days
but as it is so sticky it does tend to stay in place rather well and wears better than most glosses.
Some say this particular gloss has a vanilla scent but I disagree, it smells exactly like Ferrero Rocher.
Apart from the sticky consistency this does apply and wear pretty much like a thick liquid lipstick,
it offers great, even colour pay off and although MAC claim it wears for up to 6 hours
it is closer to the 3 hour mark which is more than decent for a lip gloss
but flipping heck it is pricey for a lip gloss, long lasting or not!

Thanks so much Juliette :)
Deletevery pretty shade!I loved the promo images of this collection & was really tempted to get a few things but apart from the glosses, Christine from Temptalia didnt rate them which put me off. Although I now have more money to spend on other things haha x
ReplyDeleteI tried the blushes and eyeshadows in store and they are lovely, really pigmented and a great formula but I haven't read Christines reviews in a while so she may have found issues with prolonged wear etc. Haha yes treat yourself to something lovely :)
DeleteLovely shade, it looks like it has a lovely colour pay off!
ReplyDeleteFor a gloss the colour pay of is amazing :)
DeleteBeen using this (although not the longwear version) for years and it's my absolute favourite. Such a gorgeous colour for fair skin!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a yummy shade isn't it...shame about the price. Ouch haha!
DeleteGorgeous colour! I really want this now lol. Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks m'dear :)

ReplyDeleteAhh no what I normally do is type "fall/autumn" to cover all basis and have just got ahead of myself..oops will remedy now :)

ReplyDeleteThat is a complete bug bear of mine too...hairy lips no thanks haha :)
DeleteBeautiful colour.. Such a lovely nudey kind of shade, perfect for everyday in my opinion :) xx
ReplyDeleteYou have summed it up beautifully :)

This is only my second, i'm more of a lipstick gal...£3 cheaper too!
DeleteI love how you come up with a background for everything! xx
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much :)
Deletenever tried Mac gloss, they look a little sticky. But this colour is lovely x
ReplyDeleteTruthfully they are, one for hair up days haha :)
DeleteI love this shade but I can't justify paying £17 pounds for it. I just can't no matter how gorgeous it is. :(
ReplyDeleteI do have to be honest and say it pained me handing over £17 for it too.
DeleteThanks for the review. I really like the colour of it. I doubt any lip gloss lasts long I think they tend to last for 3 hours no matter how long the brand claims it will last x

I'm with you on that, I do think most companies over stretch their wear claims a little like you said :)
DeleteLooking at the colour I wasn't so sure, but swatched and on it looked great!
