When I think of Clinique I think of Skin Care and Chubby Sticks not mascara
so I was more than intrigued by their newest offering Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara
which comes in two variations of black - Extreme Black and Black.
If it does all it claims to we may just have stumbled across the holy grail of mascaras!

The mascara comes presented within a large chunky chrome tube that is clean and sleek to look at
and contains one of the biggest moulded plastic mascara wands I have encountered thus far.
Normally I struggle with large brushes and tend to favour fibre brushes over the plastic variations
but I have to say this one presented no problems and was very easy to use.
It coated all my eyelashes in one easy sweep and as the brush head is moulded it really did grab every
single lash including those tiny baby ones that nestle in the corner of the eyes.


As mentioned it does come in two shades - Extreme Black and Black,
I have Extreme Black which lives up to it's title.
If you have dark eyelashes and hair then this is the shade for you or if you are looking
for a great dramatic mascara shade then again this may be one to invest it
but if you have really fair skin and/or light hair you may find this shade just a tad too harsh.


The formula of Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara is fairly wet but it does dry fairly quickly
preventing nasty smudges or the dreaded panda eye look!
I did find the formula to add length and volume without clumping but it is a little too heavy
for my sparse and super fine eyelashes but that is a common problem on my part,
if you have regular or half way decent eyelashes then I do think you will sing this mascara's praises
from the nearest rooftop.
I didn't find it to flake, smudge or smear during a 10 hour day and it was easily removed
using my regular eye make-up remover, definitely one to check out if you want super black eyelashes
which have added length and volume!
