I couldn't tease you with the Clarins Winter 2012 Eye Palette - link
and not follow up with the Odyssey palette from the same collective.
Am I alone in saying that I always tend to adore the Winter/Christmas make-up collections
a little more than any other collections the year may bring?
Much like the Odyssey eye palette this comes presented within a pretty gold case
and has a beautiful design on the top of the palette this time it is not only embossed but also a
raised masterpiece that only adds to the already stunning packaging.
As expected this is sturdy and does feature a handy mirror house inside
not to mention a cute red velvet pouch to keep it safe from scratches and scrapes
while out and about.
Essentially the Odyssey Face Palette is constructed of one shade - light beige
with the same design that features on the outer packaging in gold over spray.
If shimmer isn't your thing I wouldn't worry as the gold over spray is very easily removed
revealing the light beige facial powder.
I say light beige but it could be argued that the shade is almost peach
and it can be used as a blush or an all over facial powder depending on your skin tone.
Once the over spray is gone the powder underneath is completely matte.
As with most Clarins facial powders this is finely milled so you have a firm blush in pan form
that is soft to touch (almost like velvet), that applies well and evenly to the skin without being
chalky - it may have an ashen effect if you have a deep skin tone.
The formula is blendable, long lasting and does not settle into enlarged pores nor will it
cling to dry patches of skin.
In terms of wear I typically get around 8 hours of wear on the non oily areas of my face
but elsewhere it is around the 5 hour mark.
This will also launch in October, are you excited to see more from this collection?

Haha yes that was pretty painful ;)
DeleteOops! I meant to say how much I love Clarin's products and this one looks divine. If I had infinite funds, I'd probably consider buying the whole Autumn/Winter collection. The packaging looks as beautiful as the product itself. Thanks for sharing!

DeleteI love this and the other palette you've featured today. The name suits it so well, 'odyssey'; it looks like Greek luxury. I want it!

Thank you so much :)
DeleteThis looks so pretty! I love it. xo
ReplyDeleteThis looks absolutely gorgeous, but calling it a palette is a little bit far-fetched in my opinion, seeing as it's essentially a powder with a shimmery overspray.
