Next have taken a dive into the cosmetic world and have launched an array of items to
update your make-up bag with very budget friendly prices.
Truthfully I did think that prices would be higher than they actually are so kudos to Next!
Firstly I would like to share some nail polishes from the collection each of which have an autumnal vibe!
The packaging of the nail polishes is pretty basic but there's not a great deal you can really do with
nail polish bottles truth be told so they have done the best they can.
Each bottle is small but contains 9ml, they remind me of the Rimmel pro polishes both in size and shape.
The brush is adequate enough and covers each nail in two even strokes, the handle is easy to grip
so no design flaws there! I just want to quickly mention that the polishes each dry in around 2 minutes,
not the fastest drying formulas out there but not terrible either.
On to the shades and how they preform...
Biscuit - A light cool nude crème formula that requires two coats to become opaque and dries to a glossy finish. Personally I find it to clash a little with my skin tone but as long as your colouring is noticeably lighter or darker than the shade you should have no problems and a good nude polish is great for every day wear.
Jade Shimmer - A deep emerald green shimmer based polish that is pretty much opaque after one coat
but for best results a second coat wouldn't hurt. This is the show stopping shade out of the four in my opinion, it truly is dazzling and the perfect jewel shade for the upcoming autumn/winter seasons.
Navy Shimmer - In the bottle this appears to be a deep navy blue that has a shimmer finish,
the shimmer element is there when applied but sadly the formula is a little lack lustre and does require
three coats to become fully opaque. A lovely shade regardless but it does require a little building.
Burgundy - A beautiful deeply blue based red shade that teeters on the wine spectrum of red,
again this is a two coater and dries to a crème gloss finish. Fans of Nails Inc Victoria may want to stock up on this shade as it is almost identical.
The polishes cost £3/9ml* and should be online soon as well as being stocked in most Next stores.
Nail Polish Disclaimer - I no longer comment on the wear time as we all apply polishes differently (top/base coats etc) and as I change my polish almost daily sometimes several times a day due to swatching purposes I do not feel that I can fairly comment on wear time.
I'm loving Biscuit! I tried ELF's Nude polish, but it didn't quite hit the mark. May have to get this one and see how it fairs!
