and I had two shades that I needed a third shade to add to the collection.
After a quick Google search I really liked the look of Essie's Mezmerised
as it looked to be a true cobalt blue and something similar too Nails Inc Baker St.
Wrong! Yes the shade looks bright and beautiful when used in flash photography
but in natural light/real life it is more navy, dull and flat than dazzling bright blue.
I'm sure many will have a need for a navy type shade in their collection
but for me it is nothing special and a shade I wish I hadn't purchased.
Formula wise it is opaque in one coat which will appeal to most of us.
I had to admit that it dries and applies like a dream -shade aside
but I do find the Essie diffusion line brushes to be a little too big for my nails
and I did make more a mess than usual but that is purely a person problem
so you may get on far better than I did!
Have you picked up any of the shades from the Essie diffusion line?
Essie diffusion polishes £7.99/15ml available from selected Boots and Superdrugs
but currently on a 3 for 2 via Superdrug - link.
Nail Polish Disclaimer - I will no longer be commenting on the wear of nail polishes
unless it chips instantly etc as I change my nail colour too frequently (sometimes daily),
to comment properly on the wear and as we all use different techniques such as top coats/base coats
I don't feel that my comments on wear time are helpful in any way.
Looks nice, could do with a navy in my collection. I've had a real hankering for blue polishes recently! My fave at the moment is NYC Water Street Blue- good quality and only £1.79. Bargainous! http://lardygrub.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/nyc-water-street-blue.html
ReplyDeleteThank you :) wow that is a great deal :)
DeleteI love this color but it does stain my nails a bit once I remove it... Great review ! Very 'to the point' :)
ReplyDeleteI hate when that happens! Aw thank you :)
DeleteI have yet to try essie nail polishes. This blue reminds me of the BarryM colour i have in 'cobalt blue' but i must say that the barryM one has a glossier finish whereas this one is a bit dull. I think when i buy essie polishes, im going to choose light pastel shades first, since they do great shades =)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing~x
