for a collection of 4-in- 1 lip products - there is eight different colour ways to collect
and that I shall considering they are only £3 each!
MUA Lip Boom's are duo ended lip products that have a matte lip shade at one end
and a really glittery highlighter come lip top coat at the other end.
They are packaged quite cleverly and are compact enough to travel with.
As with the standard MUA Lipsticks these also have a small pot of lipstick
at the bottom of the lipstick side of the duo.
The highlighter applicator is of your typical doe foot style,
I feel a brush would have worked better with the consistency of the highlighter.
It's a Situation features a really deep burgundy matte lipstick
and a light almost candy toned pink glitter based lip highlighter.
Admittedly the lip shade is not something I would usually reach for
but it is really flattering once on and makes the lips look larger than they are.
The glitter top coat/highlighter is something I can't get on board with,
the glitter is too gritty and the base that it is immersed in is difficult to spread evenly.
You can utilize the Lip Boom's in four various ways:
1, The lipstick on it's own.
2, The highlighter on it's own.
3, The lipstick with just the highlighter on the middle of your lips.
4, The lipstick with the highlighter all over the lips.
As mentioned I really didn't enjoy the texture of the highlighter as it is really gritty
and doesn't spread evenly on to the lips.
The lipstick however is great, applies well and evenly with full opaque colour.
Although the lipstick is matte it is comfortable to wear and does not dry the lips
nor did I find it to cling to any dry patches of the lips.
The lipstick alone wore for close to four hours but if using the highlighter with it,
it does shorten the wear time by as much as two hours.
On a side note both lip products in the duo have a strong vanilla scent
which may be a little overbearing for some but the good news is that it is hardly detectable once worn.
I will buy the rest of these simply for the lipsticks alone as they are really well formulated
and a great matte lip option!

I agree, I don't like the glitter highlighter at all but really do rate the lipsticks :)
DeleteI stopped by the MUA stand in my local superdrug after reading all your lovely posts! Sadly, its a small store so it carries about half the product range, but i snapped up a waterproof liquid eyeliner for £1 what a bargain! Have you already reviewed this?? If so please could you give me the link to the post, I'm very interested in your opinion! I think I'll have to head to the big city superdrug store this week & have a proper rummage through the collection - I've got my eye on the BB cream you reviewed! xx

I love the colour! I'll be on the lookout for it! x
ReplyDeleteThe highlighter's texture would put me off as well but I liked seeing the different ways to wear it.
ReplyDeletewow, I love it. the colour, perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful! Unfortunately I placed my order a couple of days before the launch of LipBloom. And here in Greece we only can order them and I believe that the shipping cost it's fine (5 pounds) but on the other hand it's a little bit pricey fro MUA product. Because a palette costs 4 pounds.
