Burgundy shade that I purchased had a faulty magnet - link.
Well I after tweeting Barry M about the problem and receiving no answer,
I took the faulty polish back to Superdrug and after a quick demonstration on how it doesn't work
the lady agreed to replace my faulty magnet/polish...yay!
Magnetic Burgundy is a deep metallic Red shade that has a slight brown undertone
admittedly it is a very pretty shade but in my opinion one better suited to the Autumn/Winter seasons.
The Burgundy shade comes with a diagonal straight line magnet pattern
and I have to say it is a really effective pattern that looks great on the nails!
I found the polish to apply well and dry quickly,
the shades from the Magnetic range are a little odd for a Spring/Summer release
but perhaps there is a reason for the deep shades,
maybe the design shows up best on a dark background?
Have you tried the Barry M Magnetic polishes or any magnetic polish for that matter?
Barry M Magnetic polishes cost £4.99 and can be found in various Superdrugs and Boots stores.
beautiful color! i have magnetic nail polish and i cant seem to make it work LOL
ReplyDeleteMaybe you have a dud magnet? One of mine had that problem :)
Deleteohh im not a huge fan of magnetic polishes but this is so pretty! xx
ReplyDeletenever tried a magnetic polish but i am interested...
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to try one :)
DeleteI had a quick look in boots yesterday but I was surprised (and a little disappointed) by the shades on offer so I don't think I'll be buying any at the moment.
ReplyDeleteMe too I was hoping for some bright shades?

DeleteThis looks so pretty, I really want to try it!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I hope you do :)
DeleteThis colour is pretty. I don't know why I am not very wowed by the Barry m magnet nail polishes. I think maybe because I already have 3 of the number 17.
ReplyDeleteProbably :) I think the shades are quite similar too?
Deletei had to drag myself away from these the other day, really don't need to spend any more money on nail polishes.. but they are so nice! i think i'll treat myself after exams ;) xo

Thank you :)
Deleteooh i really like this, agree that it's odd for spring/summer, reminds me of something i'd wear at christmas! x
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought too, it's too vampy for this time of the year isn't it?
Deletethis is so clever, looks so pretty too - bit dark for summer though!
ReplyDeleteI am quite surprised that Barry M have only just brought out a magnetic polish or have I missed this. Although it could possibly be clever on their part waiting for all the hype to die down from the others. I have to admit I am guilty and joined the hype when 17 brought theirs out but I don't think I will be investing again although this was a great post :-).

I agree with you about the shade range as I noticed them in Superdrug the other day and couldn't help but think that I've just stopped wearing shades like these in favour of pastels, brights and more natural looking nails colours. Odd, but considering I've never seen a pastel or bright magnetic polish, I would assume, as you said, it's because it works better with darker colours.
ReplyDeleteI think this is something I need to try I haven't ventured into magnetic polish yet and I do like Barry M a lot. I's surprised I haven't seen it in stores yet as I'm always lurking in the make-up section haha.
