don't get me wrong my favourite ever ever everrrrr foundation is Mac Studio Sculpt
but every now and then I like to switch it up and see what else is out there!
The latest bottle of liquid that has caught my eye is L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation.
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation is L'Oreal's latest foundation offering,
is it me or does L'Oreal bring out an abundance of foundations each year?
I'm not complaining as on the whole I like L'Oreal...cheesy adverts aside.
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation comes in their typical glass bottle offering
with a metallic pump function which is handy for controlling the amount you dispense.
I don't have any complaints with the packaging other than it isn't really travel friendly
being glass and all, hand luggage does not allow for glass bottles sadly.
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation is a light infused formula which promises to achieve flawless skin
and give the illusion of "lit within", perfect coverage without masking.
The foundation itself is the perfect constancy for me, not so thin that it is watery
and not so thick that it feels like a crème type product.
I found it easy to blend and to provide moderate coverage although it can be built up if needed.
The formula is light on the skin and very comfortable so it definitely lives up to the non-masking aspect.
The shade range is not wonderful - I think around 6 shades?
For reference I have shade W5 which is a great match for NC37 ish skin tones.
I feel this foundation fairs best with a primer and a setting powder otherwise it slips a little,
worn alone this lasted around 7 hours on my oily skin but with a primer and setting powder
it lasted the full 10 hours of my day and looked like it could survive a little longer should needs be.
As always I have included the mole on my arm as a reference point,
so you can see how well it covers etc.
foundation that gives the impression of disco ball skin that looks wet...yum!
This pleasantly surprised me as it gives a light hint of radiance without the hint of shimmer/glitter in sight,
it seems to focus on giving the radiance of a healthy glow rather than overloading the skin with shimmer.
I'm not bashing on shimmer based products but sometimes they highlight flaws and faults
such as fine lines and enlarged pores but this foundation does nothing of the sort
rather it smoothed over my enlarged pores, disguises them and give my skin a healthy radiance.
If the winter has left your skin looking a little dull then I suggest picking up a bottle of this to perk it up!he

me too :) I hope you like it :)
DeleteI have a fairly oily skin type but I don't want a matte finish foundation. My ideal foundation would be yellow based, dewy finish, but long lasting on my skin - haaaard to come by. Should I give this foundation a go? Xx
ReplyDeleteHi jen :) well i'd say this is pretty close to what you are looking for! The yellow undertone I can not vouch for yes my shade is slightly golden but I don't know how the rest of the shades sway but it is worth while going around and having a look :)
DeleteIm definately going to give this a try xx I love the whole dewy look I think this sounds great xx
ReplyDeleteMe too :) i think it gives the impression of freshness :)
DeleteI'm a full coverage girl myself, but this looks very fresh and natural on you.
ReplyDeleteThat is normally me but these days I've been shunning the full foundations ;)
Deletethis actually looks pretty nice. Ive bought so many "drugstore" foundations that just sit in my dressing table unloved, it puts me off getting more

I can't say anything my collection is an eye sore haha!
DeleteGreat review.^^
ReplyDeleteAs soon I heard about this foundation Ive been curious to try it out, but unfortunatly I don't wear foundation so often (I use mostly concealer for daily basics but use foundation once a week or so :P), so I probably will check this one out later since Ive already 4-5 foundations in my stash, two from Loreal (true match and matte morphose). :/ Loreal is my favorite brand for foundation, and it's great they have made one for dewy skin because true match and matte morphose are a bit too drying for my skintype (which changes from normal to dry to dehydrated) and the other ones from Loreal are too dark. ^^;;
I have this foundation and love it!!! I like that is not cakey, glides on real smooth. I also have problem with big pores and it does minimize them to a point. I will definitely buy this product again! And its very affordable:)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried REvlon Nearly Naked foundation? If yes, I have a question: my shade in Revlon Nearly Naked foundation is 160 Fresh Beige, what shade do you think I should get in the Loreal Lumi foundation? Thanks! :)
