The face of L'Oreal Caresse Sheer Lipstick is model Barbara Palvin,
truly stunning and a nice change from all the other celebrity spokeswomen.
You can view the a snippet of the new advert before it airs on Monday - here.

I have noticed the recent trend of packaging sheer lipsticks in transparent and chrome casings
perhaps it is to hint at the formula inside being almost transparent too?
That aside the case is strong, sturdy and well constructed,
so much so that the lids are a little troublesome to remove at first.
On the lid is also a colour co-ordinated metallic/mirrored patch.

All in there is 12 shades available in the Caresse line so something for most tastes.
Cheeky Magenta is a super bright pink with a hint of blue which is fairly evident when worn.
This is one of the more pigmented shades in the range and great for those with more pigmented lips.
I guess this shade may draw some comparisons to Mac Candy Yum Yum
but they are not at all similar - Candy Yum Yum is far more intense without such a blue tone
and neon, not to mention matte in finish.

The formula of L'Oreal Caresse Sheer Lipstick's is a cross section of lipstick and balm,
Compared to Revlon Lip Butters generally speaking these have more pigment than the lip butters
and feel more like a lipstick rather than a balm.
What I can say is unlike a tinted lip balm these have a fair dose of pigment
so they do deliver in the colour pay off stakes, albeit it a little sheer compared to a normal lipstick.
They are also extremely soft and moisturising with a tendency to bleed,
so building up the shade's intensity can be a bit of an issue due to the bleeding.
That being said they are extremely comfortable to wear and have a light gloss finish.
In terms of wear I found this formula to last around 1-2 hours
but they can not withstand eating or drinking.
