I think this is the box most of us really anticipated?
I know I did, hello a Harrods collaboration in what world is that not exciting?
Housed in a white Glossy Box rather than the typical light pink nestled a good few luxury goodies
and I really was impressed with what my box contained.
Yes some said they were disappointed with what they got and asking why was there no full size products
but it all boils down to the luck of the draw and it is a sample box so there won't always be a full sized item.
I see Glossy Box as a grown up lucky bag, the thrill for me is the surprise of the unknown!
I have had my box since Friday morning so I have had a chance to get a feel of each product
and give you a brief review on each.
Molton Brown, Heavenly Gingerlily Moisture Bath and Shower Gel
The first thing I noticed was the beautiful scent...it lives up to it's Heavenly name.
It is an odd scent to describe, floral yet not floral...totally unique that is for sure.
Gorgeous scent aside it foams really well, cleanses without stripping the skin
and is moisturising to boot.
A great size for travel and/or the gym, I'm quite taken by this product and would be tempted by the full size!
Burberry Lip Cover, Rosewood 04
The product of contention so it seems!
Admittedly the shade is not one I would purchase for myself as I tend to prefer nude/pinks
but it is nice to try shades out with your comfort zone every now and then.
Rosewood is a deep pink brown tinged shade that applies slightly lighter than it appears.
It is fairly moisturising and wore for around four hours.
The lipstick is so well packaged and thought out for a sample
and would be great for slipping into any handbag!
Clairns Extra-Firming Body Cream
It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Clairns products and this creamy body treatment is no different.
On the skin it feels thick yet melts instantly with contact of the skin.
I found it to leave my skin moisturised without being greasy or leaving behind any residue.
The only downside is that this body cream has a really bizarre scent!
Narcisco Rodriguez For Her EDP
I'm biased when it comes to this scent as I own the full size and adore it.
Narcisco Rodriguez For Her is quite strong and won't be for everyone's taste,
your best bet with scents is to go and test them out in-store.
Brief but true!
YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum
Now that I am approaching my mid twenties I am all for a good anti-ageing product.
I was always taught prevention is your best bet against the fight of ageing.
This serum is so intense that you only require one drop before moisturising.
Of course I am not going to see any immediate effects
but I sleep better knowing that I am trying to prevent premature ageing.
So that is my two cents on this months box.

SO jealous of your box. Its waaaay better than mine. I was devastated not to have the Burberry Lipstick. I got a lancome mascara sample which I don't like at all. I only kept my subscription as I wanted the lipstick and was excited to get some nice lotions and potions.

Disappointed doesn't even cover it. Definitely unsubbing now.
yeah i was a bit gutted like Caliowin, i was devasted about not getting the lipstick and got a teensy lancome lipgloss, i suppose that's the gamble you have to play with beauty boxes though :) xx

DeleteIt's a shame that perfume sample didn't come in a nicer bottle, I got the cutest little bottle of Vanitas by Versace. I didn't get the best box this month and I think if I'm not super happy with a Harrods one, it's just a waste of money really! Also, all my products were really dusty which was gross and definitely didn't make it a nice experience opening it all up! xx

DeleteIts delicious. I also think that Bourjous Healthy Mix Serum Foundation smells of the same juice. So in my head the Clarins body cream and healthy mix must smell the same. xxx

ReplyDeleteI received a total of 3 moisturising products, 2 of which are firming, something I have no interest in. And I was gutted when I didn't get a Copper Burberry. I'll probably only use one product from the box, so I'm really let down. I hope next months is better otherwise I'll be saying goodbye.

DeleteI got the Clarins Body Cream, a different Molton Brown shower gel, a Lancome mascara mini, SKII face cream, Valentino perfume sample and a sachet of Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. I will use everything I got, it just really didn't live up to the hype for me. x

DeleteI had the identical box to you except my Burberry Lip Mist was in the shade Copper - and I loved it so much I had to create a post especially for it! Never seen a sample that is so wonderfully packaged and presented. It is a shame not everyone gets the same contents. When you initially sign up it seems like a great idea that each box is slightly tailored to you, in practice it does seem a bit luck of the draw.

I must be really easily pleased, I'm always pleased with my boxes. To be honest, I'm not holding out much hope for mine as I had to renew subs after missing the email to update my card info after getting a new one. So I'm kinda worried I'll just get the scraps! I really hope I get the MB shower gel though. That looks gorge and I've not used any of their products before. (which, to me, is the best part of these boxes!) x

DeleteIts so refreshing to see someone loving their box, the last couple of months there seems to be so much negativity. Sometimes i feel sorry for the poor team at GB. Great selection of products :) I definitley think the lipstick was the 'must have' product in this months box! i got the Juicy Tube.

DeleteI haven't reviewed mine yet as I've literally just opened it. I'm just in from a sad day at work and was so looking forward to my GB cheering me up but it just left me little miffed. I like 2 out of the 5 products (I got the Lancome foundation and the Versace perfume- although it smells SO like Chloe but settles to something else I've definitely smelt before ha).

I'm just a bit peed off that I got a body butter too (that smells of a freshly peeled orange btw- boke!) and another moisturizer. I think I'm just a bit bored of these types of products, 2 body creams in the one box is a bit silly I think. Sadly tit just didn't really excite me. I so wanted to it to :(

Versace perfumes always smell like other scents don't you think, first spray they smell like one scent then they dry and smell like a completely different familiar scent haha! So odd!

DeleteYou got one of the 2 boxes I really wanted, the other was the one with the valentina perfume sample =( jealous. I think mine was the box most people are disappointed with. I'm only 21 but I don't mind anti-ageing products either as like you preventation is better than cure, there's a reason my Mum is mistake for my sister sometimes! However it just didn't excite me at all, i resubscriped for this month and i opened and was just a bit oh.... Everyone else seemed to have one exciting product in the box and mine was just a bit meh....
ReplyDeleteMaybe glossy box should send their sample boxes to the ambassadors a month in advance and for the ambassadors to have a forum a week later so they can get some feedback before the final ones go out? You know if there is a product everyone isn't keen on they can pull it.

I get what you mean a few of the boxes didn't really scream Harrods and I get customers frustrations, I would have been the exact same. Maybe everyone would be happier if it was like jolie box i.e one box for all? But then I guess it all becomes a little samey?

Third box in a row I've been a bit disappointed about. 3 moisturising products in this box. Not much variety. I seem to be one of those unlucky few that misses out on the must haves such as the Becca Beach Tint and the Burberry Lipstick. Don't know whether to cancel my subscription or just keep at it.

I really find it weird how people expect to love every single box - it's a random lot of makeup samples, and I totally agree with you Adrienne, it is a SAMPLE box. I wonder how much it would cost GlossyBox to put in full size products, does anyone consider that most of the products in full size cost more than the box itself? Lol. Anyways, lovely review. I got a totally different box but I am super happy with it. The Burberry lipstick looks lovely but lipsticks are always a bit hit and miss on me - I got a lovely Lancome lipgloss which smells and tastes of Toffee! Not to mention some gorgeous creams and perfume, lush. xx

DeleteI was so looking forward to getting a Burberry lipstick. I actually subscribed to this box because it sounded so good. I was quite let down when I opened my box and there wasn't one in there. Oh well. I got a lancome mascara (which I have been wanting to try), a mini bottle of Molton Brown shower gel (different to yours), the Clarins cream, a little pot of anti aging cream, a sample vial of Valantina perfume (which smells really good) and a trial sachet of a Shu Uemura oil cleanser. I was actually quite disappointed at the cleanser because it is a stupidly small sachet and it would have been better to have included a teeny bottle so that you can get a few uses out of it to test properly. The sachet and perfume could have been picked up at the counters so I thought they were a bit pointless. Everything else was nice though.

Yeah I agree sachets aren't much use especially when oil is involved a little vial would have been so much better. What do you think about the mascara? That really does intrigue me :)

Obviously Harrods is an English store, but hopefully one day birchbox will collaborate with a luxury department store!
