I'm not sure why that is perhaps poor marketing as in all the stores that I visited a few days ago
such line was not as much advertised as new nor was there testers.
Perhaps they are so new that it has still to be rolled out?
Most Bizarre!
Anyway the face of L'Oreal Caresse Sheer Lipstick is model Barbara Palvin,
truly stunning and a nice change from all the other celebrity spokeswomen.
I have noticed the recent trend of packaging sheer lipsticks in transparent and chrome casings
perhaps it is to hint at the formula inside being almost transparent too?
That aside the case is strong, sturdy and well constructed,
so much so that the lids are a little troublesome to remove at first.
On the lid is also a colour co-ordinated metallic/mirrored patch.
The L'Oreal Caresse Sheer Lipstick has 12 shades in total so hopefully something for everyone.
Today's shade is called Tempting Lilac and is not really Lilac toned at all.
Instead it is more a brown tinged pink with the tiniest hint of purple.
In many ways it reminds me of a more glossy version of Mac Angel and similar to Mac Bubblegum
albeit with a slightly browner tone.
The formula of L'Oreal Caresse Sheer Lipstick's is a cross section of lipstick and balm,
I can not comment on how these compare to Revlon Lip Butters as mine has still to arrive!
What I can say is unlike a tinted lip balm these have a fair dose of pigment
so they do deliver in the colour pay off stakes, albeit it a little sheer compared to a normal lipstick.
They are also extremely soft and moisturising with a tendency to bleed,
so building up the shade's intensity can be a bit of an issue due to the bleeding.
That being said they are extremely comfortable to wear and have a light gloss finish.
In terms of wear I found this formula to last around 1-2 hours
but they can not withstand eating or drinking.
Product Summary
Round Up - A hybrid of lip balm and lipstick, these offer a light dose of colour while moisturising
and have a slight glossy finish.
Best For - An alternative to typical tinted lip balms.
Pigmentation - (7/10) Really impressive for what is a sheer product.
Availability - I can't find these online but they are available in both Boots
and Superdrug, both stores have a 3 for 2 offer presently too! £7.99 each.
Your swatches make me wanna buy a ridiculous number of lipsticks! Everything looks amazing on your lips...

DeleteThis is a really lovely color. Unfortunately I'm too shy to try out lipsticks, when I overcome that fear I could give it a try. It looks so good!
ReplyDeleteaww that makes me sad to hear :( you should begin with a shade that is close to your natural lip shade until you feel more confident to try new shades. If you need any help just let me know :)
DeleteFunny thing is, I actually buy lipsticks - but maybe I'm colorblind or the lightning in our drugstores is so bad - which I think have a natural lip shade and then I ended up with a strong pink or red tone? Maybe I should be more careful when I buy one the next time :) Thanks for your advice!
DeleteAh I see :) that must be so troublesome! No problem at all :)
DeleteThis looks so nice! I definitely want to try these lipsticks :) I haven't seen them advertised anywhere either, it seems a bit odd as to why they wouldn't advertise them! xx
