Being a huge fan of the FashionistA blush palettes I was rather excited about their newest release - lipsticks!
I wanted to share the shade Red Carpet in plenty of time before Valentines day
as I really can't think of a more perfect nor fitting shade than this.
In all honesty I think the majority of people will either love or hate the chrome red packaging.
I quite like it, it's fun and funky and pretty unlike anything else I own
but I do get that some may feel it is a little too bold and brash.
The most important factor is that the lipstick is more than secure in the casing
and thanks to the sturdy metal packaging it will survive any bumps and bashes in the handbag!
Red Carpet is a true classic red shade, it smacks of old Hollywood Glamour.
As with most classic red shades this has a blue undertone - really helpful for making teeth appear whiter.
I firmly believe that red shades such as Red Carpet suit the majority of skin tones
and are perhaps one of the most flattering out of all the red hues.
The formula of these lipsticks are light yet highly pigmented.
I found it to deliver a high colour pay off without pulling nor tugging at my lips.
The formula glided on and dried to a semi-matte finish that was in no way drying.
In terms of moisturisation I would deem these to be middle ground,
they are not as moisturising as say a balm type lipstick but not as drying as a true matte shade.
Red Carpet as with most reds did bleed a little but showed no signs of feathering,
so I do recommend using a lip liner to minimise and prevent that factor.
I did find this shade to stain a little but the lasting power of the shade was wonderful,
lasting around the four hour mark with ease.
