This is actually a little sneak peek as Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Make-Up
doesn't hit the counters until April...my birthday month so start saving haha joke!
Anyway yes this formula does not launch until April and when it does it will be available
in a whopping 17 shades - from the palest of pale to really dark shades
so hopefully there will be a shade to suit everyone.
As with most Clinique items the packaging is clean and to the point,
I really appreciate the simpleness of Clinique packaging, they let the contents do the talking!
The foundation is contained within a transparent squeeze tube so you can control the flow of product
and minimise any waste with such ease!
The foundation itself is a gel-cream hybrid, if you have tried Mac Studio Sculpt then you will understand
as the consistency and formula is very alike.
It feels light, moisturising and is very easily blended and absorbed into the skin
as it simply glides on, I find gel formulas to be one of the few constancy I can apply using my finger tips
and still have a flawless base but for best results I do stipple it on.
I found the coverage to be mid level but buildable,
in my swatches I have shown this by applying it over a dark mole to the right of my arm
as you easily see it is some what disguised with a light application
but would be completely camouflaged should I have applied a layer or two more
Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Make-Up is of course oil free which is fabulous for problem skin,
oil can irritate the skin and produce blemishes not to mention block pores
so once that is eliminated you reduce such problems.
The formula claims to reduce oil even in extreme heat and humidity -
this I can not vouch for living in Scotland and all
but I did find it to keep oil at bay without the need of a setting powder,
which is not easily done with my over oily complexion.
This is due to the formula containing shine absorbers to reduce and soak up oil
all the while refining trouble areas such as typical oily areas like the t-zone.
So I've explained how it works but does it?
Yes it does indeed keep oil at bay which such ease,
I skipped primer and powder in order to really put it to the test
and it provided shine free coverage for a full day - 9 hours.
It is light and comfortable to wear and I do think it would be ideal for warm climates
or for travelling if like I you come from a less than warm country.
I do like the foundation but would prefer it to contain a sunscreen
and have a higher coverage but those are just my personal qualms
as all in all it is a great concept and perfect for oily/shiny skins!
This will launch in April at all Clinique counters and stockists price TBC
For reference I tested shade 9 Neutral.
The above product/s were sent for consideration of review.
I was not compensated in any shape or form.
All opinions expressed are my own and 100% honest as always!

DeleteI wish I could like clinque, but I am so scared of it since reacting really badly to it! x
ReplyDeleteI thought that too :) but it is allergy tested and fragrance free so it won't irritate the skin :) that applies to all clinique products just in case you ever fancied testing anything and had a little doubt :) x
DeleteI've got dry skin so matte products aren't the best for me but this looks cracking!
