It is most odd consdering I have spent most of my life shunning the shade.
Yet now I see the allure nothing quite compares to a bright red pout,
sexy, classy and daring all in one tube.
I have tested many items from the MUA range but have overlooked the lipsticks
and this was not by accident, I mean I need another lipstick like a hole in the head!
Yet when I saw shade 13 I couldn't pass it up and for £1 who can really blame me?
Like most of the products in the MUA range it comes in plain glossy black casing
which may not be the fanciest of packaging out there but it more than does the job
when it comes to protecting the lipstick from handbag mishaps.
However they do have a pretty nifty feature the bottom section that shows the shade
housed inside is actually another small pop of co-ordinating lipstick!
Pretty nifty eh?
Shade 13 is a true bold red with a typical blue undertone.
The shade is not ground breaking but a classic hue and one every make-up bag should have.
The beauty of this shade is that it not only makes your lips appear plumper and fuller
but it helps to make the teeth appear brighter and whiter.
The formula of Shade 13 is surprisingly good considering the price point.
I found it to glide on with ease and not tug or drag on the lips.
The shade was opaque in one swipe and it applied smoothly not patchy at all,
it has a slightly glossy finish and feels moisturising on the lips.
As it is a red shade I do find it is best to apply a lip liner
and set the lips after application to ensure the shade does not bleed or feather.
I have not done this for the photographs as you can see as I wanted you to see the true application.
In terms of wear I achieved around three hours before the sheen finish wore off
however as it is a red shade I did find it to stain so the red shade lasts on the lips
long after the glossy finish disappears.
Product Summary
Round Up - A cheap and cheerful bright classic blue red lip shade.
Best For - Everyone particularly for £1
Pigmentation - (7/10) Really well pigmented, I have experienced far worse in pigmentation levels for a higher cost.
Love MUA lipsticks, good quality for the ridiculously low price! Great for someone just starting out with lipsticks

ReplyDeleteThat's a really great color for the price. 8D And you'd better believe I ran to that MUA lippie you sent me and popped off the bottom! I had no idea!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, I'll definitely be looking to see if I can get it over here.
ReplyDeleteLoving the lipstick posts at the moment, they are satisfying my current lipstick obsession perfectly! I've got this shade and rate it amazingly considering the price tag. I've tried a few of the paler shades but they're not that great in pigmentation in comparison to the darker shades but the sheen from the paler shades does remind me of the korres lip butters so you might like them :) thanks for the nod to the bottom part of the lipstick for me it was questionable but you've cleared that up nicely!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Belle.x
I have this lipstick but don't use it anywhere as much as I should! For £1 I cannot complain about this lipstick at all and the pigmentation is lovely! X

ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing, and the shade completely suits you! xx
