I was very fortunate to receive my Glossybox at 8am this morning which has given me a few
hours to test out the products I was unfamiliar with - Eyeko liner and Murad primer
again as fortune would have it I am more than familiar with the majority of the box's contents
so I didn't have to wait a few days to test the products in order to give a review.
Am I alone in saying that I love the shade of the hot pink box?
I know it is a limited edition and they will go back to being pastel pink in due course
but wow the cerise pink box is pretty!
Eyeko - Skinny Liner, Emerald Green - Full Size £9.50
I feel the packaging is a design flaw of some sort the long pointy silver handle had me wincing,
i'm a little scared of loosing an eye or two haha!
That aside the shade is really lovely and has a beautiful shimmer effect.
I found the liner to swatch and apply well, without pulling or tugging on the delicate skin area.
I must mention that I like Eyeko's make over from cute to kitsch!
Clairns Extra Firming Night Cream (sample 15ml) - Full Size 50ml/£48
This is a product that I am familiar with as it is the evening cream that my mother uses
and on more than one occasion I have 'stolen' a drop here and there...haha!
It is a powerful moisturiser that works best on mature skins
but on the occasions that I have used it, it sank in well to my young oily skin
didn't leave a residue behind and generally felt luxurious!
Clairns Extra Firming Day Cream (sample 15ml) - Full Size 50ml/£46.50
Again a product that I have tested through the means of my mother.
As it promises it does deliver an instant dose of moisturisiation and you can feel it tighten the skin.
Just as the night cream best suits more mature skins than I so does this
but that is not to say younger skins can't use it they may just feel it borders
a little too rich for their tastes and needs.
Fab Gentle Body Wash (sample 56.7g) - Full Size 226.8g/£10
I actually own the full size version of this body wash and I have been trialling it lately
so this sample couldn't have come at a better time really!
It is free from nasty chemicals and parabens, scent free and lives up to the gentle promise.
I found it to soap well and gently cleanse the skin without stripping it of moisture.
**Sorry ladies, some eagle eyed readers (thank you ladies!) have kindly pointed out that
we have in-fact received a moisturiser and not a body wash, I have not tested this as yet
but will report back...thank you :)**

Murad Hybirds Skin Perfecting Primer, Dewy Finish (sample 5ml) - Full Size 30ml/£29
An oil free primer that promises a radiant glow and is powered by light enhancing minerals.
I slicked this on a few hours ago before applying my make-up for the day
and yes I found my make-up to apply a little easier and I fully enjoy the Dewy finish
but in all honesty I have not noticed any radiant glow as of yet haha!
A nice enough sample but not one I will be rushing out to purchase the full size version of.
And as a lovely little extra a custom rock candy by Glossybox,
I can't get over how cute this little sweet is!
So what did you think of this months Glossybox?

I love the pink box x
ReplyDeleteI unsubscribed after the december box, and whilst I love the more skincare/make-up contents of this months box I cant say many of the contents I've seen on other boxes really excite me too much.. although I would of loved the bright pink box! haha
ReplyDeletexx
haha the bright box is amazing isn't it :)
DeleteWow, this months Glossy Box looks lovely. I'd love to give those Clarins products a go, I'm really loving their skin care at the moment. I love how they've made an extra special effort for Valentine's Day too with the box and the sweet :) xxx
ReplyDeleteI have to agree the efforts put in are very evident, I don't want to eat the sweet it is too cute haha!
DeleteI got the same box as you, but notice that the body wash is actually body moisturizer! Mine's the same...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for pointing that out :) I totally over looked it :(
DeleteHi, I have this same box too :) I know the card says FAB Body wash but you have a Body Moisturizer in your pic. I've received moisturizer too, they probably put body wash on all cards..
ReplyDeleteHi lucy :) I have sorted it :) thank you so much for pointing it out though :) I can't believe I over looked that haha...oops
DeleteI agree with you, this bordering-to-fuchsia-pink looks so much nicer than the regular pastel pink Glossybox. Sigh, can't wait till a beauty box company branches out to my country! I love this concept! xx
ReplyDeleteAh that sucks :( do you get any sample boxes where you live?
DeleteAhh that ssoo pretty, which box would you say is best for make-up as I want top subscribe to one xx

Hi Katie :) I have only really fully encountered Glossybox and Boudoir Prive boxes both of which are on an even keel when it comes to make-up :) it would honestly depend on what you would personally prefer :)
DeleteHiya:) Thank you! So far Glossybox is looknig promising although I saw on another blog Carmine looked really good too!! Decisions Decisions!!!
DeleteI can't wait to get mine, the packaging is amazing!

Petit Chatons
Isn't it just :)
DeleteI always love the way the items are presented in Glossy box. The items all look pretty good and I'm forever tempted to sign up!
ReplyDeleteThough i do think that the pencil is rather on the short side, I'm assuming it doesn't go past the silver part and so I feel its quite expensive for what it is.

me too :) it is such a pretty box isn't it :)
Deletesorry I pressed publish before finishing my comment..doh!
Deleteyes I think the pencil stops at that freaky silver tip, the tip really freaks me out in all honesty. I'm a tad scared of it haha!
I want to subscribe to a box but im not sure which one. I would prefer more makeup based than skincare/perfume etc.
ReplyDeleteGreat post though, i love seeing what people got in their boxes!

Hopefully soon their will be a make-up only box, i'm sure one brand will jump on that wagon haha :)
DeleteLooks fantastic ;)
ReplyDeleteKinda gutted I unsubscribed to Glossybox, especially because of the colour of this! So cutes. The eyeliner looks so weird though, looks like it'd be so hard to apply. x

aww that sucks :( yes it is and it scares me a tad haha
DeleteCan't wait to hear about that FAB moisturizer. I've been thinking of picking some of their stuff up as it's often highly rated.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it is as good as the wash as I really enjoyed that :)
DeleteI shall keep you posted as always :)
Oh my god... I am so jealous. I really wished I receive this for this month glossy box. I'm not sure i liked mine so much :(
ReplyDeleteaww sorry :( what did you dislike about your box?
DeleteWe got the exact same selection but I must say I really dislike the pink box! Also I thought the eyeko pencil was such a waste of packaging. do you think they added the long pointed side to cut costs and give you less actual product? Hmmm! Other than that though I liked it!!
ReplyDeletehttp://helloterrilowe.blogspot.com/
Yes! Now you have mentioned it I do think that, I also think it looks like a weapon haha!
DeleteI had to wait till I got home from work today to check mine out!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I totally love the hot pink box! I will definitely be keeping this as a storage box :)
I got the same eyeko pencil as you in Emerald Green, I was a little disappointed, as I don't think this is something I will ever actually use!
Look forward to reading your review of the F.A.B Body Moisturizer, as I actually got the Body wash in my box, and I love it! May have to purchase the moisturizer too!

That must have been a lovely thing to come home to :)
Deleteme too the box is fab!
aww really I like to use coloured liners in deep shades on my lower lash line to add a little pop of colour to a smokey eye :)
yes I shall keep you posted as I know a few are curious to how it shall preform :)
ooooh i've seen loads of glossybox reviews but never saw anyone who had clarins stuff!! I got mine this morning, don't mind what's in it but i think i'm going to unsubscribe soon... im just so worried that i unsub and the next box is fantabulous! x
ReplyDeleteAh I'm the opposite all the reviews I have seen have the Clarins stuff haha!
DeleteI know what you mean I had the same dilemma with the carmine box...
I got the same box as you but have the liner in pink. Thought this months box was a good one overall and loved loved the packaging. Danielle x
ReplyDeleteDo you like the pink liner?
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few grumbles about the pink variation.
Yes isn't the packaging beautiful :)
