After the roaring success I had with Boots Essentials Cucumber Gel Eye Make-Up remover - link
I simply had to test the rest of the range to see if it also faired well.
Today I have the everyday staple that is the foaming facial wash.
Like the rest of the items in the Essential Cucumber range this has the same light
and fresh Cucumber scent, scented products often worry me as I have sensitive skin
but I can report that the scent does not irritate my skin at all.
As you would with an standard facial wash this works best when applied to a wet face
particularly warm water as that will help to open the pores making light work of removing grime etc.
I use this with a wet muslin cloth as I found it easier to get a lather from
and I always find that if I use a cloth I remove more make-up/dirt than I do with my hands alone.
With each application I only used a tiny amount and found it to remove my make-up well.
I don't use this as my only evening cleanser use it instead of facial wipes,
simply to remove the bulk of my make-up as soon as I get home in the evening.
Before I go to bed I do use Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish or Boots Pore Foam Wash
to ensure every little scrap is gone so my face and conscience are clear!
Like I mentioned it does remove my make-up rather easily although I did not test this on my eye area.
It does work better for me than make-up removing wipes as they break me out
but I would not use this as my only cleansing product
as I did find it to leave my face feeling a little tight after each use.
This is not really a problem for someone with oily skin like myself initially
but over a period of time this would undoubtedly dry my entire face out.
Yes it says suitable for all skin types but avoid it if you have dry skin as it will only add to the problem.
All in all a pretty average facial wash that is nowhere as good as it's sister products.
I think this would be a good buy for weekend's away etc, good in small doses.

You make everything you review look so good. This looks yummy! Great review. x
ReplyDeleteThe Cucumber Scrub and Moisturiser are lovely, I rotate the moisturiser with other ones depending on the season x
ReplyDeleteI may try those next :)
DeleteI've not tried this, I have the clay mask from this range which I like to use every so often, and the toner is ok too.
ReplyDeleteI saw that but i'm allergic to clay :(I may try the toner though :)
DeleteI didn't get on with this facial wash but i really liked the moisturiser from the same range, really moisturising!
ReplyDeleteGreat post :) xx
Thanks Laura :) yeah it's not my fav either!
DeleteI'm not keen on the face wash or the eye gel but I love the moisturiser from this range! Can't remember a time that I haven't used it
ReplyDeleteOkay you have officially convinced me to pick up a jar :)

OMG I've said this before to you, but I friggin love your backgrounds!! Cucumber, priceless xxx
ReplyDeletehaha aww thank you so much Hannah :)
ReplyDeleteI love your props!! x
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad it makes you skin feel a little tight! As I have dry skin this definitely would not work for me. The only boots products I've tried are their makeup wipes (which make my eyes hurt,) and their eye primer. Have your tried either?
ReplyDeleteDarn! I love cucumber scented things but not drying things. Though my skin can get quite oily at times, I know that it's because it's actually quite dry. So that's two hits and a miss from the cucumber line so far?
