Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge - Powder Pink - Review

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks is of course a duo purpose product
and one I had completely forgotten all about which is a shame as I do like multi-tasking items.
Not only do they save space but also time.

The packaging is clean and simple,
a nicely sized transparent plastic tub with a glossy black lid.
It protects the product yet looks professional and expensive
and has the classic Bobbi Brown logo too.
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Cheeks and Lips are scent free.

The shade I have is called Powder Pink which is a little odd given the shade
is more of a browned pink and not at all 'powder' toned.
I guess some may say this more of a mauve shade opposed to a true pink.
Bobbi Brown powder pink is a neutral shade thanks to the brown undertone
making this a good all rounder shade that should suit a vast variety of skin tones.
I do think think Powder Pink may be too light for dark skin tones to wear as a blush
but it should suit as a mid/light toned nude lip hue.
In many ways it reminds me of Mac Faux lipstick in terms of colour.

This product was hard to review as it preforms differently depending on how you utilize it.
On the lips it is a great glossy muted pink brown shade that feels moisturising yet not sticky.
I also noticed that applied as a lip shade it does appear more milky than it does elsewhere.
It feels natural on the lips almost like that was always it's intended use.
Like I earlier mentioned it does have a definite ring of Mac Faux about it
so if that is a shade you enjoy this may be a lip colour you'd want to consider.
I achieved around 3 hours of wear before requiring a touch up.

I was shocked to learn when applying this product as a blush that the pigmentation
does not blend away to nothing like some cream products but in-fact stays true to the shade.
I do recommend a less is more approach when applying as a blush.
On the cheeks it also leans slightly more pink and never fully dries to a matte or powder like finish,
instead it stays dewy which is a finish I do prefer, which may prevent it turning ashy on deep skins.
In terms of wear this successfully lasted a full 12 hours and still looked fresh.
You can also use Bobbi Brown Rouge Pot as a base to lay another blush shade upon.
