After much lusting I caved and purchased Benefit's newest highlighting product - Watt's Up!
I can not say Watt's Up aloud nor in my head without thinking of Bugs Bunny haha!
Turn on "watt" ya got!
Watt's Up is a delicate champagne soft focus cream highlighting product.
It comes beautifully packaged in a funky metallic double ended pen like tube,
at one end is the cream highlighting product and at the other is a foam sponge like applicator.
Not only is the packaging pretty but also functional which gets a huge thumbs up from me!
As I earlier mentioned Watt's Up is a light champagne highlighting product
that is cool in tone and is a cream to powder formulation.
It has a slight frost finish but has no chunky glitter particles
just oodles of tiny silver flecks of shimmer that gives the skin a beautiful radiant finish.
It did not settle in my pores nor did it highlight so it does live up to it's soft focus claim
making this perfect for mature skins as well as younger skin types.
Watt's Up glides on with such ease and unlike liquid products this is so much easier to control.
Applied on top of foundation it does not cake but adds a beautiful sheer veil of radiance.
Not only does it apply with ease but it is very easily blended into the skin as the cream formula
is super soft and melts with contact of the skin.
I tested the foam applicator and have to admit that I don't care for it much,
compared to a stippling brush it feels rough and harsh on the skin
and I also noticed that it removed more product (and my foundation) than it did anything else!
My only problem with it being a cream stick formula is that I can mix a few drops in with my foundation
but I guess I have my stash of liquid highlighters for that purpose.
Swatched heavily it is a bright golden cool tone Champagne shade
but once blended the Champagne hue disappears leaving behind tiny particles of silver shimmer
that works really well blended on the cheek bones and also on the brow bone area.
As this blends really well I don't see any skin tone having difficulties with the shade or tone
with this it will really boil down to preference i.e liquid versus cream.
In terms of wear this lasts a full working day - 9 hours without any signs of it faltering by the way side.
All in all a really great highlighter!
Product Summary
Round Up - A light sheer champagne toned cream highlighter.
Best For - All skin tones as long as you like cream formulas.

Sounds like the perfect highlighter - but I can't let myself near a Benefit counter in a good long time! Sigh! Xo

You are very welcome :) let me know how you get on:)
Deleteaww lovely :) it looks just like the Topshop stick highlighter, which is a little cheaper. would need to compare the two though! xx
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear, I have been meaning to pick up the topshop version but won't bother now...thank you :)
DeleteI've never tried a truly solid/creamy highlighter before. Just powders and liquid. Hum...tempting...
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer the cream, I find powders to be more difficult for accurate application, liquids I like but only really when combined with foundation. This just feels right haha :)
DeleteBeen umming and aahing about buying this, but I love my high beam so much not sure whether it would be worth it? x
