There is something I really enjoy about baked beauty products, they always look so much more appealing in the pan than a standard product. I bought Accessorize Baked Bronzer Duo in Laguna partly due to it's appearance and partly because I'm looking rather pasty these days!
Like all of the products in the Accessorize make-up line this comes neatly presented in
a golden and transparent case completely with delicate butterfly adorations. Admittedly the compact is a little chunky but not so much that you would dread using it on your travels, despite it's bulky appearance it is fairly light weight. However you should forgive it's size as it houses a whopping 12.5g of product!
Laguna is composed of two shades of equal sizing, one slightly pinked bronze shade that is warm in tone and has an underlying orange leaning. The other half is a light golden yellow beige that is slightly cooler than it's counter part. You can use each shade separately as they are well sized or you can mix the two shades together to form one colour. I do not recommend this duo as a blush for deep skin tones but it will work really well as a highlighting duo. On lighter skins this can be used as either depending on how you apply each shade.
You would not be mistaken if you thought these look a lot like Mac MSF powders, I would have to agree and they preform in a similar way too.The Accessorize Baked Bronzer Duo feel firm to the touch yet once you swipe at them, they quickly turn into a soft finely milled powder that has little fall out. Both halves of Laguna are not matte in formula but slightly frosty, there is no glitter present and the bronzer does not settle into fine lines and/or pores.
The pigmentation of the Accessorize Baked Bronzer Duo's is not ground braking but they do add a healthy flush of colour to the skin without caking or being overly shimmery, the finish can be slightly metallic so it's best to approach with a light hand. However if you are looking for a strong blush or bronzer this is not for you but it won't look muddy on lighter skins which is a bonus.
The darker shade of the duo obviously has the most pigment and works really well as a light bronze toned pink blush but does not work well as a contour shade as it is not matte. For me the lighter half works best as a highlighter to add a subtle glow to the skin, I found it looked particularly beautiful dusted on top of the cheekbones. When you blend the two shades together it forms a light dusky bronze pink shade.I managed around 5 hours of wear before requiring a touch up so the wear time is average.

ReplyDeleteI really like the look of this, though I'm not a big fun of bronzer, but would like to use it as a peachy blush and highlighter duo :)

ReplyDelete@max - I'm the same, I never really bother with bronzer :) but as you said it does make a nice blush!
I have this, I absolutely adore it. I'm an NC42 in MAC and thought this wouldn't look good on my skin colour but it's lovely!
ReplyDelete@thatgirl - I bet it looks absolutely lovely on your skin tone :) x

@maria - Thank you :) yes i've been using it on my cheekbones as a nice golden highlight shade x
ReplyDelete@pebbz - thank you :) x
@jade - ah that sucks big time :( the online selection is dire too! x
ReplyDeleteThe darker color reminds me of the Flormar makeup I received from Makeup and Macaroon's giveaway. I love using it as a highlighter (it's a bit too light to be a bronzer or contour on me.) <3 Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love the brand but everytime I get one of their baked products they always end up splitting in half which spoils their pretty appeal! :/ xo
ReplyDelete@eden - Ah that is a shame but I bet it makes a beautiful highlight :) x
ReplyDelete@forever the ugly duckling - Oh really :( that is terrible! I hope you take them back and complain x
I have this in Pearl Sands and love it - it's a little browner rather than pinker.
ReplyDeleteI might get this too, I just love the colour and the fact it leans pink
